Simply the BEST croissants in Toronto! French trained pastry baker brings his passion to Toronto. These hand-made croissants are probably the best you’ll ever have. It’s a three-day process, using only the finest ingredients. Pistachio is their most popular croissant. It’s flakey and filled with delicious chocolate cream – you’ll fall in love at first bite. Each Saturday they prepares special treats – so go early before they sells out. Location is lacking ambiance or tables, so take your orders to go and share it with loved ones. This little gem is a must try!
2023 January 3.5 On a seemingly busy street lined with shops, you'll find this narrow bakery serving double baked, intensely browned, croissants. Step inside and you'll know that it's narrow. In the back, you can see the kitchen. Certainly an open concept design. At the front, a single aisle which you certainly you can't fit more than several people inside, the goods are displayed and patrons are served. Almond Croissant $4.95 Almond on top, Croissant cut in half horizontally and filled with an almond paste, it's not bad. Regular Croissant $3.95 Crispy with all the layers you'd expect. Not oily nor heavily buttered. Pain Au Choc $4.25 Chocolate Croissant, chocolate inside and being double baked, extra crispy on the outside. Ham and cheese Meat Croissant $5.50 Not much ham, but a decent amount of cheese. Not bad. Purchase 6 or more and no taxes. Very Limited street parking outside. Park on smaller streets and walk over, or just stop briefly if there's no line up.
Pretty modest spot but the pastries really blow you away! Do yourself a favor and get the pistachio chocolate croissant and you will not be disappointed. This wasn’t too sweet compared to other twice baked croissants I’ve had in the city.
Got four different croissants there, some savoury some sweet. The ambience of the store is very dark and I couldn’t tell it was open from the outside. The croissants were all laid out but there were no tags for the names of the croissants which made me think that the store wasn’t open, even though it was. Overall the flavour is good, nothing special, but there are better croissants in the city. The butter croissant was more doughy than flakey and the salmon one was hard. The arugula in the salmon croissant was also old and wilted and very off-putting. However the workers are extremely nice and welcoming, just think the store needs some improvements here and there.
My favorite bakery in Toronto. Not only do they have some of the best pastry shop standards but the specialty pastries they do are always innovative and amazing. From an aloo gobi stuffed danish, to Korean sausage bread, to some of the nicest looking tarts you can find in the city, you can’t go wrong here. Never leave disappointed unless I’m there after everything has sold out. Great service.
One of the must-try place to get croissant and its variety in west toronto. Simple shop with great service. I tried basic butter croissant, pitaschio croissant, almond croissant and especially peach pitaschio croissant. Everything tastes good.
A hidden gem in the Toronto viennoiserie space! How am I only just hearing about them?? Products were a bit on the small side and the kimchi bun picture right definitely lacked for filling, but the flavour and execution is there. The pistachio croissant was filled with generous amounts of chocolate and an amazing, silky yet still nicely chunky pistachio filling. Easily one of the top pistachio croissant I’ve had Will definitely be coming back to try more
Absolutely incredible Almond, pistashio and chocolate croissants. Bless the great worker who recommended them. Such a great Sunday morning pick me up!
Geste is my favourite viennoiserie in Toronto at the moment. The croissants are the perfect combination of flaky and buttery not too much to the point of being oily, or too little to the point of being dry!. Their other pastries are also to die for - the kouign amann is warm and comforting with its notes of caramelized sugar and the pistachio chocolate croissant is abundant with nuttiness and a slightly bitter chocolate that perfectly offsets the sweetness. Would highly recommend! EDIT: I forgot to add - if you try pastries from the A-OK Café attached to the Aritzia in Yorkville, they are sourced from here! That was my introduction to this bakery - 10/10 choice by whoever made the decision at Aritzia to partner with Geste!!! The Kouign Amann was $3.75 pre-tax and the Pistachio Chocolate Croissant was $5.75 pre-tax, which I think are very reasonable prices for a bakery in Toronto.
Tried the espresso Croffle & almond croissant and they were both amazing! A cute small bakery but no sitting area - take out only!
