Genji

Located in Parkgate Village beside Subway near the Mount Seymour Parkway entrance. Lots of parking. Clean, friendly service. Had the lunch Bento box. Chicken was skinless and not crispy and no rice. Otherwise everything else was tasty. Nice quiet friendly neighbourhood sushi place.

I've been to Genji twice recently for lunch in 2022 Oct and I enjoyed the experience. The place looks inconspicuous from the outside and is next to Shoppers in Parkgate Village North Vancouver. The inside though is nice and gives a sense you are in Japan especially with the booths or cubicles. The lunch box is well priced at about $15 and comes with a variety of delicious items.

My service at Genji is always amazing. Definitely my go-to sushi place in the Deep Cove area. Their sushi is well priced and delicious and fresh. I always get seated in a semi-private booth, it's such a nice experience!

Fresh ingredients, cozy atmosphere, intimate booths and friendly staff make this a hidden gem in North Van.

me and my mom ordered a grill platter but the seafood was small pieces and hardly any, the main thing was it was dry and over done. I have ate many times but I don't recommend this place for Japanese food. Plus it was my mom's birthday and it ruined it for the both of us.

Not recommended, as the food, atmosphere and even the decor are devoid of any flavour. Soup was flavourless, ginger was dry, rice was overly sticky. Place used to have some character before it was "renovated", but doesnt any more. Much better options nearby.

One of the sushi cook there gives me weird look doesnt even say hi keep looking at me like he wants to fight or something. Waitress put me in weird spot where i have to keep face this cook looking at me. Food is over priced and they are out of many sashimi. Seems like they are only friendly to korean ppl.

Situated in Parkgate plaza, it’s a quaint family run restaurant. Service was similar to sushi California, have to flag our server down for service. Their take out is also very convenient since COVID happened. Everything is always fresh and on point. The prices are a bit higher than sushi California, but given they’re one of three Japanese restaurants on this side of town, I think it’s justifiable. I like their sashimi salad, their sauce is a bit spicy. Prawn tempura is also very crispy and tender shrimp, even when we got it home. Rolls were good portions too, and nigiri sushi was on point. Overall a nice option for this area of town.

Best kept secret east of the Seymour river! Fantastic tatami rooms , and wonderful japanese food. Don't let the location fool you.Food: 5/5

Highly recommended. Great atmosphere, tasty and a far price. The server was very polite and attentive.
