Yuko Maki Sushi

A Vancouver city local’s top recommendation. Since I wasn’t familiar with this part of Vancouver’s food spots I asked a local where to eat good sushi. This place didn’t disappoint. It got pretty busy while we were there but the service kept up. They also had numerous take-out orders being picked up. This spot has good business and people enjoy their food. I thought the food was good. The variety was very nice, and the plating they used was also very nice. In my opinion, their Volcano sushi roll was the best sushi on their menu. I noticed our food came out pretty quick so they must’ve done some preparation to ensure this. I can’t complain about the service, but let’s just say the octopus, salmon, etc. dish wasn’t my ‘cup of tea’. I would recommend this spot because they have a good variety so you won’t be stuck choosing between this soup or that soup. There are many more options. We ordered 1x Chicken Teriyaki Combo, 2x small soups, 1x Volcano Sushi roll, and 1x combination sushi plate with octopus, salmon, etc.

First time visiting after friend's recommendation, was not disappointed. Love the spicy combo, all three rolls are tasty. Size of the pieces were all over the place but that wasn't too big of a deal. Love it! Will visit again if we are in the area.

Excellent food for an excellent price. We've been going to this restaurant for years and the food is always well prepared and fresh. Don't pay attention to people complaining about bad service. The staff is friendly. It's a very busy restaurant and the service and food is always very good, quick and efficient. Try their many combos and their incredible massive sized sashimi platters!

This place is good we tried our favorite order there again. box A if u want beef u can request extra beef for 2$? bbq eel this is good one its a belly calamari squid if you want special sushi king kong roll its like a spicy sashimi tuna w/rice green leaf roll yam & avocado if u want vegetables dragon roll its eel hvnt tried it but i like to if u want to save cash theres a order of sushi only that cost 4$? its California roll 8 pieces we got a good experience here. try something new on your menu so u can have your favorite too

Really cheap for what it is. Huge variety. Quick service. It isn't the best sushi but for the cost, how can anyone complain. I was there for take out so I can't speak to dining in but my experience was pleasant.Food: 4/5

Sushi portions are large and price is reasonable. Fish box is very deep fried but the fish is light and delicious. Mixed combo allows you to pick your roll from California, BC roll or spicy Tuna. Customer service is below average, they really don’t acknowledge their customers, only fill the tea once and don’t check on you once the food has arrived. Also they brought the food out staggered. I practically finished the sushi combo before the fish box was ready.

This is a very very reasonable price Japanese restaurant in North Van. There are lot of dishes and lunch box combo you can choose from, not only cheap but also it’s very delicious, yet potion was big as well. Overall, excellent, staff are nice and food was fast and environment was just perfect, will visit again shortly.

I love their 3 item combos. They r fast and the price is good. once I ordered chicken karage and got chicken wings - not the type of karage I was expediting. Not a fan of their fried yam. I particularly like their tofu teriyaki.

it rained all day and I wanted to eat out tonight I live close to Yuko Maki and although it hasn't been my favourite "go to" it was close, the food was inexpensive and consistent.I probably hadn't been there in a year We entered and it looked the same as always. but...It looked more cozy this time as I left the wind and rain battering the door behind me The delicious smell of steaming Miso reminded me of why I chose Japanese tonight at the front of the restaurant are bags upon bags of take out waiting to be picked up. Covid is good to Yuki Maki We showed our covid passports and were seated The server wasn't friendlyI don't think they ever arebut it was really busy there.Maybe I'm complaining too much. she brought us hot Green tea, it was the best thing since coming in from out of the cold and wet in the background I could faintly hear classic rock.I would of rather listened to buddhist chimes then Bon Jovi "Living on a Prayer" but no place is perfect We sat in a booth,I love booths.I could hear medium volume chatter from the other patrons, the servers were running around an you could hear a constant strong accent voice of the girl at the cash register taking order on the phone, one after another after another I looked around me,It had been a while since I was here,I got an almost Christmas vibe,I smiled : We were hungry and so made up our minds quick Food was served, chopsticks were split, we mixed soy with wasabi in those little dishes and we "let er have it" nosh nosh sushi was fresh, gyoza was cooked almost perfect, the spicy fried tofu was spicy good.the chicken teriyaki was hot, tender and sweet but not too sweet I might of missed on a a few things on the plate but believe me it was good "anything else, are you done?"the waitress popped her head in, then cleared our plates and poured more green tea in one motion I sat back and took my time on this final cup of perfectly brewed Japanese tea I paid up, it was just over $20 a person with the tip and Im ready to conquer the elements outside once again I asked myself has it always been this good?who cares, it was real good tonight. Ill be back
