Review update: this restaurant is not family friendly. Please take your ID and be over 21 years old. Good French restaurant. If there is the sixth stars, I will this restaurant 6 stars. This is the one of my favorite restaurant in the Greater Seattle Area. The vibe is chill. Very relaxing and chic. I will definitely take my friend and family to this restaurant very often. By the way, I really enjoy sitting in the bar. It was great to see how chef cook the dishes. SO COOL
Pleasantly surprised! Their happy hour food was all very satisfying and decently priced as well. The duck confit was not on HH and it was enjoyable but not my thing, esp for 20 bucks. The escargot was delicious but I mean how do you go wrong with that much butter haha. Burger was very hefty and filling while frites were nice and crispy! Service was.... kinda weird but nothing went wrong I guess. Waitress didn't know what a red ale was one on their list, the beer I got had a different ABV content than listed, burger was not medium rare. Food: 7/10 Service: 5/10 Experience: 5/10 Value: 6/10
Always solid. Soulful place with consistent good food and service. Always get the French onion soup. Steak and frites great. Lots of tasty cocktails too.
To say we were disappointed is an understatement - party of two walked in around 7pm, and took two seats at the bar. The restaurant was full, but not packed, and there were tables available. It took 10 minutes before the bartender greeted us with water and menus. I immediately placed an order for a cocktail special, which happened to be posted on the wall behind the bar and sounded appealing it was called "B Positive". The cocktail came out rather quickly, about 5 minutes later, and the bartender said he would be back to take our order. That was the moment where we should have closed our tab because at that point, we received no follow-up from the time we flagged the bartender down for our check 30 minutes later. At the moment when the cocktail was delivered, we told the bartender we would like to move to a booth, seeing one available. He said no problem, and we imagined that meant he would be over to serve us shortly in the booth. We waited a full 30 minutes, watching both the bartender and two servers make laps around the restaurant, with no acknowledgment of us. We overheard them apologizing to other patrons for the delay in service to their tables. After picking our entire meal and salivating over the menu, as well as both using the bathroom, we decided to flag the bartender who was ignoring us down and ask for the check. We were so excited to find an authentic French restaurant in a cozy neighborhood. This experience left such a sour taste in our mouths to the point it threatened to ruin our entire evening, but frankly, the lack of hospitality at this place is so uninspiring that it's not even worth a second thought.
We enjoyed the cheese board, cocktails, french onion soup, fries, and the Gainsbourg burger. Burger and drinks are specially good and a superb deal in the happy hour. We ordered drinks between 4-6pm on a Monday, so got double happy hour deductions! Service is not the friendliest but we didn't mind. French influence perhaps?
My new favorite spot for drinks with friends. The ambience, cocktails, comforting french classics and decor enable conversation and settling in. This is a place to snuggle from the rain and dip your baguette into buttery escargot, to get frites with everything, to have full flavored soups and not fear cream. Finally, to take time to sip a French press after dinner. Do yourself a favor and bring a friend.
Consistently excellent, the happy hour gainsburger is a steal. Duck confit is mouth watering yummy. I love sitting at the bar on the cooks side and watch their attractive staff knock out their dishes. It's seat your self, don't be shy, super cozy comfort food. Kid-friendliness: No kiddos.
Hidden gem. The duck and escargot dishes are absolutely mind blowing here. Duncan is a fantastic host, the guy knows a thing or two about hospitality and customer satisfaction. Ambiance is eclectic European candlelight, and wine selection is good!
I love this place. The kitchen is open late, the food is delicious, reasonably priced, well curated wine and cocktail list and the service is a great mix of relaxed and attentive.
Mmm I hace to say that I went in November and I had a nice experience. I went back in December and things changed a lot. Waitress was a bit aggressive and was very far from a good service. We order some entrance and the French fries, which were THE WORST I have ever seen in my life… terrible. I recommend to a friend and I brought her there and now I regret of it. I hope they change the quality at least of fries and also hire kind waitress but I wouldn’t take that risk .
