Fruiterie Val-Mont - Montreal

I've been to 9 fruiteries and grocery stores in the Plateau and this place is by far the best. The quality of produce is always outstanding and unlike going to a big box store, the staff and girls are incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. If they don't know the answer to something, they find someone else who does. They always have good weekly specials as well (not just produce). They likewise have ripe, packaged, ready to eat, fruit on ice by the checkout that is better than breakfast at most 5 star hotels and at a fraction of the price. They really go out of their way to help you here too. I was making pesto and they ordered a box of basil for me so I didn't have to go all the way to Marché Jean Talon. Unless something is on special and of exceptional quality elsewhere, I buy all my produce at Valmont.

Great quality products for a great price! The employees on this particular location are super nice!

Usually good quality fruits and veggies. Their belsoy pudding is the cheapest I have found in Montreal. The rest of their merchandise is average to high price compared to stores in the neighbourhood.
