Frontier Ghost Town Campground

I enjoyed a few days' stay here mid March. I got in pretty late, but it was no trouble - Rick helped me find my way. A fun little cabin was ready with its wood stove prepped and waiting. The warm weather meant a lot of mud, but the fields and forests still had oodles of beautiful snow. The large property backs onto public forests with trails, which are complimented by more of the same in their friendly neighbours' lots. I.e., it's a fantastic base camp for hiking, skiing, snow shoeing, ATV-ing, etc. It's also great for dogs, but as Rick warns, keep them out of the woods after dark to avoid the night-time coyotes. I learned the ghost town is host to open mics, parties and festivals - which makes sense, the set up is ideal and Rick and Shannon are fun hosts with as much personality as you'd expect from this unique hippie-esk setting. If, however, you're seeking to be a population of 1 for a few days, and are happy to rough it in a bare bones albeit cute, comfy and quirky cabin amidst signs of recent revelries, this is your 'town'! Aim for off-season and your hosts will help book your stay between events. For fresh, wholesome local food options, check out Rocky Raccoon Cafe and Chickory Common. I plan to return to all three in future winters!

Rick is a really friendly guy. The town had a great feel and has been used for movie-making. Most of the cabins have electricity and a little wood stove.

Every year we host our poker run here for the ghost riders. We absolutely love it here. 2nd year Here and we will be back again and again. Thank you for everything ML&R

There's a very fun campground just south of Owen Sound. It"s a place where adventure and fun run abound. A place for your next big family event, you can stay in a cabin, bring your RV or camp out in a tent! From taking over the saloon, to the fire that's as high as the moon, this ghost town I hope to visit again real soon! To describe this place using only a noun, magical comes to mind, to describe this Frontier Ghost Town. Thank you for my stay and all my care, you truly made our event a fun affair! I will miss the orchards of apple trees, and that refreshing Grey County breeze! Say hello to the two that were so helpful and smart, don't forget to check out their cool psychedelic art. I sure miss the freedom machine rally. I hope this awesome venue will hold the event again. The owner is a truly awesome guy and the whole event is super chill. Its a great scenic ride there as well.

Very nice place to visit hosts alot of very nice events the owner is friendly & easy to deal with.

had a lot of fun here. We hauled our horses in for a day ride. The buildings are so cool and the owner was very welcoming.
