Who doesn’t like a walk down memory lane. This is a great spot to do a little something different in the city. If you grew up in the 80s / 90s, this is the spot to play some nostalgic arcade games. A great time out and it brings back so much nostalgia. You can reserve tables and it’s best to come here with a group. There is a wide range of games offered and affordable prices for drinks. Parking is available but limited, easier to get here by transit.
We had a fantastic time at FreePlay! The owners and staff were friendly and accommodating. They successfully assisted with a birthday party of 25+ guests adults + 1 child, without any hassle. Communication was prompt and professional. They allowed me to bring a cake and provided utensils for it with a reasonable cake-cutting fee. We couldn't believe that we can play everything for only $5! The upstairs space was intimate enough so that we could make rounds with our guests while everyone had fun playing games of their choosing. We initially thought of going to places like D@v3 and Bu$ter$ or R3c R0o0m modified spelling to eliminate searches, but we are so lucky we went to FreePlay instead. I think our guests had a much better social time. Loved the retro touches of the action figures and board games. Loved the spaces for photo ops. The only improvement I may suggest would be menus with pictures for old school folks like me who don't particularly like QR code menu scanning but I get it given pandemic protocols lol, but otherwise I recommend FreePlay for adults who want to go with a date, a small group, or celebration like we had :
5 dollar cover fee, bring cash, and enjoy all the classic games available. There are a few drinks options so it's a great place to bring some friends to and just have a few beers and play the games. A lot of the arcade games here are available and quite a few consoles as well. Would recommend for just spending a few hours here if video games are your thing.
I love it! We past a excellent time here, my friends and I love the games, the music and the decoration of the place. You can play, drink, and if you want dance in the night they have a Dj. Excellent option for spending time on Friday night.
Had an incredible birthday there yesterday and it was well impressed. Staff was super accommodating and attentive to our whole group, music was fun, and the games were great. Best arcade bar in the city!
Took my boyfriend here on his birthday and it was so fun! It was busy but not super packed on a Saturday night. We did have to wait for some games we wanted to play but not super long. Such a great vibe and music they had a DJ event happening! Games were fun and drinks were awesome! Tom Hall manager was super nice and accommodating to make sure that we didn’t have to wait in line since I purchased tickets beforehand. Really amazing customer service and communication with the manager. Highly recommend for a fun night out or celebration! Couldn’t be happier with my experience and will definitely be coming back!
MASSIVE shout out to the staff and owners of this fabulous gaming establishment. After going to game bars for the last six or seven years I really feel like this place has nailed the PERFECT equation. Thank you to Dan at the bar downstairs and Caleb bouncing between up and downstairs for the kindness and great service I was shown just a single human showing up. Yall are the best. Fully accessible on the ground floor and with a genderless washroom. I have to say I've never had this much fun by myself in a place like this before. Staff was abundant and cleaning down machines the whole night, and the food and drink had NO BSNS being that good. Consoles and arcades upstairs and same downstairs. Patrons are just as cool at the staff and I can't recommend this place enough. Thank you freeplay!
This place is amazing!! The staff went out of their way to be helpful and kind. The atmosphere was so fun and chill, great for pairs to experiment with hundreds of games. The food is amazing too, my friend and I shared the appetizer platter and it was sooo good. Definitely going back!!!
Amazing selection of old school arcade games and game consoles! Easy to spend hours here but would recommend coming before 8-9pm to avoid the lineups. Staff is friendly and great drink selection too. Would definitely recommend.
Honestly this place is the BEST place to throw a party. The staff are AMAZING. The manager Ember was so great at helping me get everything organized and making sure the night went off without a hitch. Our server Caleb was outstanding. Quite possibly the best service I’ve ever had and I work in hospitality management. The 80s/90s vibes are beyond fun. The entire setup makes for amazing photos and the music is GREAT. We will absolutely be back time and time again.
