Fountain Tire

Fantastic staff, all of whom are very knowledgeable & considerate. The work they do is always excellent, I never feel like I'm over paying & no one here tries to sell me things I don't need. (This has happened with several other mechanics; being a woman, seems to be interpreted as "has no car knowledge whatsoever"). Best shop I've been to in the city, I definitely recommend it.

What makes a tire service centre good/bad is not the tire, you can get the same tire anywhere, it is actually the service, and these guys are terrible at that. I have dealt with 3 of the reps here and either on the phone or in person, I could feel that they hate every moment being there and they throw their boredom and miserable life at customers in forms of rudeness and carelessness. I was there to repair a punctured tire, been told it will be 30 minutes. After 40 min. my car finally goes in and out in 10 min., but it sits there for another 20 min. It was done already the guy just didn't bother to tell me that, and this was not even part of my complaint. This rep charges me for the service and I make the payment. I ask for future reference if my tires had any warranty on them since I bought mine there just last year and usually tires come with warranty. He says, "Yeah, but not this kind." What do you mean?? So is it an Yes? or No? What kind of what? Is it the tire? Or the puncture? Or the repair Service? From previous chat, I know I won't get much further with him so I give up and leave. On Fountain tire website under warranty description, all tires come with 5 years road hazard warranty except for some truck tires. So next day I call to clarify why I had to pay for puncture repair when the website says I am covered under warranty. Apparently, you need to go to your original location of purchase. No other tire sellers do this, not for services. I am not asking for a brand new set of tires, but just a 10 minutes of service. And if this is too much for a big chain store, what is the point of going to a chain/franchise? For Costco, you buy anywhere, you go any other store for services or even warranty for new set of tires for that matter. Also, this guy asks for exact date of purchase, well I don’t carry all my receipts on me all the time, he has a computer to tell him my purchase history at his finger tip. Instead of asking my name to look up the info., he says I had to pay ‘PROBABLY’ because I bought it over a year ago so warranty period ran out. At this point I see no point wasting any more time, he is not going to spend 2 seconds to confirm my purchase date on the system. I didn’t even bother to tell him that the website states the warranty is valid for 5 years. This store made $45 for a repair service and lost a returning customer along with all my family and friends who could have been potential customers. Good business strategy.

Worst place, I brought my nissan Altima 09 because my caliber snap even tho I got them done here less then a year ago, and to fix it, it was gonna cost 1200 and when I asked y so much they told it's cuz I have to get them all caliber done and I have an exhaust leak, so I said ok go ahead and today I went to a different mechanic and he told that all the original parts are still there and there's no evidence that anyone has done a repair. So if you like given you're hard earn money, this is the place for you

My husband and I went to get our car inspected as we had moved to BC recently. The result of the inspection was shocking as Fountain Tire generated a report that stated that our car needed repairs that would cost upwards of $3K. Something didn't seem right especially when one of our headlights which was working completely fine and was just cloudy was put down as needing to be replaced which would cost about $500. When my husband took our car to another place to get an oil change, the person there was surprised by first of all how much the inspection cost ($170 after taxes), saying that other places charge much lesser typically around $100 and that we got ripped off. He was also surprised to learn that the headlight was described as needed to be replaced and stated he could probably just take an oil rag to clean up some of the cloudiness which sure enough did the trick. We had completely lost trust with Fountain Tire's report at this point. We took our car to another place in Surrey. The inspection itself was much cheaper and the one repair that was needed which was on both reports was taken care of for $500. Had we been trusting, we would have forked over almost $3K more than we needed to. Needless to say, we felt cheated and will never return here again.

Great service and quality work done by the staff here at the Kingsway and Russel location. I highly recommend this place for all your car needs!
