This place was a gem. Its tucked away in the northernmost part of Niagara Falls. The fort was only $12. Could spend hours exploring the place. On the weekdays in the winter, it is a romantic fortress for just you and your date. We were the only ones here. You can enter most of the buildings. There are interactive exhibits.

Fort Niagara has a wonderful history which is over 300 years. There is a small museum near the fort entrance where they play a 15 - 20 minutes movie of the fort's history. There was also reenactment of a British soldier when I visited in November. They have grander reenactments in the summer months than in winter. Takes about 2 - 3 hours to see all this.

Excellent afternoon get away. Spent the day touring the different building and listening to the great stories. Each room had someone dressed in the appropriate attire. The musket demo was neat and just looking out over Lake Ontario is breathtaking!

It was fantastic. We have visited other forts around the country but nothing like this.
