Fort Anne National Historic Site

Nice old fort with lovingly maintained grounds. There are picnic tables in the shade, and lots of benches to stop and sit to appreciate the scenery. The museum was closed, so I say anything about it inside, but outside it was immaculate. The town has some beautiful old Victorian homes that must be seen to be believed. History is everywhere in this place. Also lots of little boutiques and bistros to stop, shop, and grab a quick meal.

We were lucky, it was a glorious sunny day, the light was beautiful. The history is fascinating and the fort is well maintained. On the edge you will have beautiful views over the water as well. On many places you have lovely benches where you can ponder about the long history.

Good day trip. Museum is well organized. Grounds are kept pristine. The main building is wheel chair accessible, but the two outbuildings are not (very small magazines). Also the grounds have slopes and dry moats with stairs that would not be wheel chair accessible if you want to climb up them.

Very cool say considering 2007 it's free. Grow up as a child in this area the fort was a lot of fun. Sliding down the slopes in the summer in the winter. An awesome spot for snowboarders as well. Winter or summer this is a cool place to be..

Very peaceful and serene place in the evening. Great for taking walks along the water. Good for dog walking. Kids have hills to climb. The view is well worth the visit.
