Fort Anne National Historic Site

Over the decades have been here many times. September 2023 was very quiet and peaceful - we almost had the entire place to ourselves. Park fee provides access to the museum as well.

This is Canada's birth place! Fort Anne and Port Royal Habitation were pivitol in the making of what we now know as Canada.nLovely site, well maintained grass and yard.nLots of parking and is pet friendly as well.nYou can see the cannons, and hills surrounding its Fort from every angle. During the summer there is often many cafes open, and restaurants in the quaint little town of Annapolis Royal.

An incredibly scenic spot and reasonably quiet for a tourist spot. Cute shops around and really open to the public to explore at their own will. A good day trip!

Fort Anne was amazing. Easily visited in an hour to two depending on how much you want to read. It had beautiful views and you can really envision how it was used hundreds of years ago. There were activities for kids. Very affordable. Kids are free and 5$ for adults. Located in a very touristic part of Annapolis Royal. You can park and walk to tourist shops and restaurants from the site.

I stopped there for an hour on my way to the ferry in Digby. What a beautiful spot for a walk!
