Great location, spots to get into the water, friendly owner and "neighbours". Efficient, not fancy. Hubby saw people jump off the bridge to swim. Cabins are rustic. Shared bathroom with one shower $1 and two toilets, but sign says to lock exterior door when in use. I couldn't lock it - a bit warped by the weather, I imagine - forgot to tell the owner. Basketball hoop, horseshoes, etc. Quiet spot. Firepits at some sites. Rope clotheslines on sites backing to the river trees. Read the poster, so you know the guest policy and speed limit. Hubby checked in and I saw it on the last day in the laundry room.
My husband and I and our dogs stayed here 2 years ago. We loved it so much we came back again this year for another week. The river sites are amazing with great views and no bugs. The faciities are extremely well cared for. The seasonal campers are very welcoming and the owner; Ken, is fabulous. The atmosphere is nice and quiet and you don't have to worry about drunken rowdy partiers. The campground itself is right in Bridgetown and close to all amenities. It made for a great jump off spot to do sight seeing in the Annapolis Valley area. I would highly recommend staying here. Thanks so much Ken. Leslie and Steve, Roxy and Calvin from Hamilton, Ontario
This was the worst case of discrimination I have ever witnessed. The owner Ken was hospitable and freindly the first day my wife and i showed up. We made our reservation a few days ahead, fri and sat. First night would be just us and sat another couple would join us. When the other couple showed up this is when the trouble started. Our freinds have an interracial marige. Her husband of jamacian decent was imedietly acosted by ken the owner. Ken drove his golf cart directly to him and asked what his problem was? He was merly checking out the river. He did not respond to Ken and this was just the start. We went to a music festival that night and returned later that night and went to sleep. The next morning Ken seen our freind going to the washrooms and went right at him again saying "YOU STAYED HERE LAST NIGHT" again my freind said nothing. He told me about it when he got back to the trailer. I went to the office to see what the problem was. Ken then started ranting and raving about wanting the names of all people on our campsite. Said it was policy. I then informed him he did not even know my name, and this was only a problem when he seen our guest. I went back to the trailer and proceeded to pack up he then came down and was ranting and raving about names. I told we are leaving and will not be doing any more busniss with him. He statted he was calling the police...we just left. This may sound bizzar, and trust me it was....I STRONGLY RECOMEND YOU DO NOT STAY HERE!!! He is known by locals as a tyrant...
They have very funtional bathroom, shower, and laundry facilities here. Very clean and friendly. We were tenting and there was no wind and little road noise.
Sounds like a little boycott is needed for this neanderthal, in old Bridgetown.
Right on the river in Bridgetown...beautiful location.
Nice place to vacation
