Food Basics

I was at this location this afternoon around 115pm. The cashier helped me with my coupons. Afterwards I came back as I lost my phone. She suggested she ask one of the managers to look at the video footing. She did and was able to tell me I put my phone into my coat pocket when I left the store. Someone found my phone and I’m so grateful for the staff to be so helpful and kind. There’s still some good people around and some of them work at food basic! Thank you!

I was there for my weekly budget grocery run. You can't beat the prices on staples and the sales are often fantastic. The produce section is a bit of a gamble—some days it's fresh, other days you need to pick through it carefully. The store feels a bit dated and the aisles can get cramped when busy. It’s a no-frills experience, but it gets the job done for saving money.

Around 6:15pm today Sept. 18/25, one of your employees was a real MVP!nnSome goof left their cart in the parking lot instead of putting it away properly. The cart started rolling quickly towards a parked car. We watched stunned from our car because we were too far away to get to it, even if we ran out.nnSuddenly, one of your employees wearing a safety vest came running down the parking lot to stop the cart. We couldn’t tell from our angle if it did end up hitting the car or not, but we thought it was awesome how quickly the employee acted to save the vehicle.

New store, neat and clean. Well stocked though some items available at other food basic are not available. Seems to be dependant upon local clientelle.

In the same plaza you can find pharmacy, bank, dollarama, tim hortons, macdonals and many other stores.nThey saling flowers and small plants all the year.
