I was quite impressed with my experience. There was a large selection of fresh produce, meats, and other grocery products in the tidy, well-stocked store. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Chinese products make up the majority of Terra Foodmart's products, and there is a wide variety of food available. Prices were slightly more than there were in other places.
Many fresh vegetables not available in your local grocery store. Lower priced prepared Chinese dishes and sushi. Great price for fresh salmon.
Bad service bad smell in store Their seafood and meat section smells so awful like it’s a crime scene. I went there to buy some meat but was turned off by the bad smell. I have concerns about their food safety. Even walking close to their seafood and meat section was unbearable. Their service was also bad. Cashier doesn’t greet customers. She seems she hates the job so much. She threw my item on the ground. When picking it up, she didn’t even apologize. I bought 200 dollars worth of groceries so many bags and very heavy. They do not allow me to borrow the shopping cart to move my groceries bags to my car which is merely 30 meters away. My first time here so I don’t have a coin to discharge the big shopping cart. The woman told me to compare to Walmart but doesn’t she know most grocery store shopping cart don’t require 1 dollar coin? Walmart, sobeys, no frills, metro, food basics, Costco, superstore, loblaw you name it all of them don’t need a coin. With more than eight bags she doesn’t allow me to use either big shopping cart or small shopping cart. What if I am a lumpy elderly? Would they do the same? Shame on this narrow minded business that doesn’t care about people. No more business for them!
I will never come back here again, I bought the fried donut sticks cause it looked really good and took one bite and saw roaches and what looks like roach egg inside. I was mortified, I’m pregnant and was sick to my stomach the whole entire day. The health inspector needs to come here. I threw out whatever I bought that was made or packaged by them. Waste of money
Expect to wait 1 hour in line to cash out. Massive lines and they only have 3 cash registers open on a Saturday. Avoid this store.
Terra really impressed me and made me feel comfortable adjusting to what will be the new normal for our future shopping. I was presented with both a mask and a glove at the door since I forgot to take my mask I don't normally wear them since I avoid crowded isles and wash and sanitize my hands after each store visit. Only problem I had was that this person was also doing the sanitizing of the the baskets as well Suggestion for the retailer have someone sanitize after a set amount of baskets are returned and have just one person handing or handling the PPEs. I know you probably can't waste any man power to have an individual handing out just masks and gloves but you would potentially defeat the purpose if you have one person doing both. I am wearing them more now since it is getting harder and harder to shop with disobedient shoppers who don't follow the rules or guidelines set out by health officials and signs posted by retailers. Terra you are on the right path
Whoever picked up the phone at customer service today is so unprofessional and so rude. I asked for a price check and I clearly told the person which item I'm looking for. I told her where it located at the store. She doesn't want to check for and keep saying "we have lots of products soI don't know" doesn't matter how many times I told her where it is and what it is. I told her they only have 2 different brands but only 1 type and both are the same price always. The lady keep saying I don't know I don't know. She doesn't even listen. I would like to put a 0 star if I could.
Today is November 22, this place has no shame selling EXPIRED PRODUCTS. This breads best before date was November 17.
A very unhappy shopping experience at Terra with cashier who name is Lauren. She might think I don't speak word of English when I cash out and while I was speaking over the phone in Chinese. She used very harsh language, rude tone and body language asked me to pack my grocery faster, remove my credit card faster, and move faster, because she has no space to scan more items. PS. The moment was not busy, she didn’t help to pack and standing there tell me what to do. I was patiently to coordinate with what she asked for, but I am not happy with her behavior and customer services. I have told the store about her behavior on the way out. The Cashier Lauren was laughing at me and kept saying she didn’t do anything wrong. It is very unfortunate and angry experience that a white Canadian woman taking her arrogant behaves and unpleasant way towards an Asian woman because she thinks I am not speak English. With other male Canadian customers and customer who she thinks they speak English, she uses different approach from what I saw. The moment happened, there was no interfere about her behavior and no apologies from the store. This cashier is very rude and raced, I am very surprised and angry, and also can’t believe this thing happened to me in the Asia community. With her such rude attituded and behavior, does Terra aware of her behavior? I would ask Terra to follow up with my complains, I need a result and have to stop discrimination as my case happened again; especially, in Chinese community. This is shamed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Terra Foodmart caterers to the Asia demographic, it has a good selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, large meat section, live/frozen fish area and a hot food takeaway/sit down area. Prices are pretty reasonable, usually has that fishy odour as soon as you enter the store and for whatever reasoncheap in the winter months the whole store is always cold , the cashier are always bundled up against the cold but are pretty friendly and quick, the sample ladies do not go out of their way to offer up what ever they have as it seems they are not comfortable speaking English.
