After having this cafe on my wish list for years, I finally made it to Flourist. Being a sourdough fan, I had to bring a loaf home sadly, they don’t have a slicer, so I ended up with some pretty uneven slices . The loaf was great, with a pretty strong sour taste. I also tried their cardamom bun, but after eating so many during my time in Scandinavia, this one unfortunately fell short of the ones across the continent. I appreciate that their baked goods seem to be sourdough-based as well; however, I didn’t think it meshed well with the cardamom flavor profile. The coffee was good, but not necessarily memorable. I’m curious to try their ricotta toast next time!nnThe ambiance was quite nice, with a clean wood palette. I noticed a diverse mix of customers on a weekday afternoon, ranging from people working in the cafe to small families enjoying a coffee break.
Came here after having a friend recommend Flourist, and I really enjoyed this restaurant/bakery/shop. Their menu is not necessarily numerous in items, at lunch time they will have a Soup of the Day, toast with different toppings, salads, and, of course, sweet baked goods. On the day we visited them, we had their Celeriac Soup, thick and flavourful, and Avocado Toast, served on their bread baked in-house and topped with a very generous portion of mashed avocado & olive oil. After that, we had to try their Apple Hazelnut Galette, coupled with a Matcha Latte, a very satisfying way to round up our visit. We enjoyed the atmosphere, the brightly lit space, and the food, of course. But beyond the restaurant side of this business, their concept includes a shop where you can purchase all kinds of ingredients to do your own baking, including their own brand of freshly milled flour. The staff here were very friendly and helpful, and this added to the experience... One complaint, though. Does it make sense to allow people with laptops and 1 cup of coffee to occupy tables right at lunchtime when you have a line of clients trying to find a place to sit down? This is in spite of signage asking people not to do precisely that! Annoying...
Been wanting to try the Flourist for a while now — came in for pizza night and was in no way disappointed!nnOrdered the week special which was the eggplant parm pizza and it totally exceeded my expectations despite them already being set quite high! You can truly taste the quality between the sourdough crust always a win in my book, array of cheeses, and perfectly cooked eggplant. My only complaint was that it was so, so incredibly salty but to be fair it is pizza so I guess that it is somewhat to be expected.nnThe place in general is also just fantastic. Super cute and well lit with ample space for both casual and work dining. They also have so many wonderful provision and goods available that are also just fun to browse. Not to mention the staff were incredible and so sweet. Highly recommend — excited to come back!
My daughter and me enjoyed our hot drinks, pastries and time together. We wish there were more coffee shops like in the city. It feels so welcoming and local. The customer service is excellent ! The salads are the best!
The atmosphere is really nice, there is a lot of cookbooks you can read and the food it’s fantastic. The mushroom toast and the ricotta jam toast are amazing.nBe prepared for wait because is always a long line to order and to find a spot for sitting but it totally worth it
