Batard Bakery

We went to the bakery at the end of the day expecting the quality of the pastries to be compromised. We are pleasantly surprised! Tried the sun dried tomato, spinach & Asiago bun and the double baked almond croissant. Both are still light and flaky. The eclair was a bit on the moist as expected given the time of the day. Coffee was good but not as hot as we like. The bakery has a nice ambience. Overall a very pleasant visit.

Ordered a French beef dip, but don't know why it comes with sourdough bread instead of French baguette? Why? I wanted to try this dish because wanted to try their baguette. Nothing has informed. Besides, tried a cup of the "potato, bacon &roasted garlic soup", disappointing, got 2 little potato cubes, didn't taste garlic. The whole soup only tastes rosemary, rosemary, rosemary.... herbs over powering. Should have stayed with chowder soup, it was nice yesterday morning though. Way better than this disappointing potato bacon garlic soup. Bâtard bakery has very good quality and consistency croissants.

This is my all time favorite place for beef dip. The sauce they use is just amazing! I've had their other sandwiches as well but the beef dip is still the best. Haven't tried their bakery items but the fresh bakes breads all look incredibly delicious.

Everything I've ever had here has been excellent! They have fantastic espresso, and I can't ever manage to leave with out trying their baked goods. Friendly staff and a family-friendly atmosphere. I only wish I lived closer to Batard, although my bank account is probably happy that I don't!

The kitchenware items are simply delightful, the bread is artfully made, and the pastries are extremely delectable. Even something as mundane as a BLT can be elevated through the addition of goat cheese and avocado, not to mention perfectly toasted crusty bread made in the kitchen. And if you think you've had quiche before. Try the one here. The egg is light and slightly creamy!!! If this is the real thing, other versions are a sham. If you want a fix of France, this is the place. Only down side is wall to wall people.
