Batard Bakery

I have visited this bakery cafe a few times. The quality of the foods is stable and promising. I ordered their Pate and tomato soup this afternoon. Pate with salad and pickle was nice. The tomato soup was satisfying. I should have ordered a full size one.nnTheir servers were welcoming and polite. The ambiance was cozy and you can slow down and enjoy a moment in life by the window.nnTheir breads are authentic and good to get some for breakfast.nnOverall it has been a great experience in enjoying meals here!

Like walking into a cafe in France. Comfortable vibe. Some larger tables that are shareable by guests build community. Meet new people. Coffee was bitter however. Typical Vancouver espresso so disappointing. But the pastries are good. Lots of things to buy like oils and takeaway goods.

It was quite busy on a Thursday morning at 10:30. We were lucky to snag a seat! The chocolate croissant and almond croissant were beyond flakey and delectable! The latte was creamy and perfect. A nice place for a treat but be prepared if you have to take it to go as it’s busy!

First time at this beautiful bakery. Enjoyed the Batard croissant, French onion soup and vanilla latte. All so delicious but the French Onion soup was the most joy! Went to meet friends on a mid-Saturday morning so huge lineup, took awhile to get our order but fortunate enough to get a table to seat 5.

I had the pleasure of visiting Batard Boulangerie today, and the experience transported me straight to a quaint French café—authentic even amidst Vancouver’s modern charm. Few places can deliver this kind of atmosphere, and Batard absolutely nails it.nnI ordered an Americano, which was beautifully crafted with a thin, delicate crema that lingered on top which probably is coming from the oil of the freshly roasted coffee. The aroma was robust yet balanced, a true hallmark of expertly roasted beans. It was smooth, with no bitterness, making each sip incredibly enjoyable.nnTo complement the coffee, I tried the Apricot Vanilla Galette. Its crispy, buttery layers were perfectly baked, and the balance between the tangy apricot and subtle vanilla sweetness made it a treat worth savoring.nnI also took home a Salmon Coulibiac, which was phenomenal. The sockeye salmon, paired with mushroom ragout and a hard-boiled egg, was all wrapped in a golden croissant dough—a dish both indulgent and satisfying. Every bite felt like a harmonious blend of textures and flavors.nnI first got to know Batard because a friend gifted us a box of their pastries. While I initially found those selections too sweet for my palette, today I was delighted to discover a wide variety of offerings, catering to different tastes. The exterior of the boulangerie was so inviting, like stepping into Paris, and I’m thrilled I gave it another chance.nnThere’s so much more to explore here, and I’m already planning my next visit to try more of their unique creations since I pass through Fraser every time I’m on my way to work. Batard is a gem for anyone who appreciates fine pastry and excellent coffee!
