Flatbread Neapolitan Pizzeria

I really wish my experience here had been different. First, the positive. The caramelized onion soup was delicious, the ambiance was nice, and everyone was really friendly. Now, the negative. We had a great table near the open kitchen and were able to watch the food being prepared. The hostess, who was very nice, was also helping prepare and expedite food. To my complete shock, she only once used gloves and otherwise, just used her bare hands to help prepare the food in between seating guests. We watched her the whole time, and she never once washed her hands. She would pick up menus (which we all know are dirty), seat people, go and stick her hands in prosciutto or salad toppings, and then go back to being the hostess; she only put gloves on once and this cycle of events happened multiple times while we were there. The chef was handling food and wearing gloves. We couldn't believe it - such a health risk. I went back and forth about saying something, but I didn't and should have. I just was kind of shocked. Needless to say, I picked off the prosciutto she bare-handedly put on my pizza. As for the flatbread pizza, it was a let down. It was really soggy and limp, and like I said, I had to pick off part of the toppings. The person I was with ordered a salad, and for about $14, it was mostly just lettuce mix; in fact, she made the comment to me, "Man, this is just a lot of lettuce!" There wasn't much else. Like I said, I really wanted to like this place, and I might have tried it again (choosing something like a sandwich and soup), but after seeing the hostess not use gloves to handle food, I can't do it.

Pizza there is so yummy. The dough has the best texture, but thin. The pasta, salads, and everything is outstanding! A little pricey for the food, and it gets loud, but really not that bad.
