A Modern and Highly Connected Transit Hub for Northwest TorontonnFinch West Station is an excellent and crucial addition to Toronto's transit network. As a key stop on Line 1 Yonge-University, it's not just a subway station but a major bus terminal that seamlessly connects northwest Toronto to the rest of the city.nnWhat makes this station great:nn· Fantastic Connectivity: This is the biggest strength. The station is a major hub for numerous bus routes. You can easily get to York University, nearby neighbourhoods like Jane and Finch, industrial areas, and even express buses to places like Scarborough Centre. It's the primary transfer point for anyone living or working in this area.n· Future-Proof Design: The station is built as the future terminus for the Finch West LRT Line 6, which will provide a much-needed rapid transit connection to Humber College upon completion. Even while construction is ongoing, the station's modern design is evident.n· Fully Accessible: The station is incredibly well-designed for accessibility. It features multiple elevators that go from street level all the way down to the subway platforms, as well as escalators. This makes it easy for everyone, including those with strollers or mobility devices, to navigate.n· Clear & Modern Amenities: The platforms and concourse are clean and bright. Digital screens clearly display real-time subway and bus arrival information, making it easy to plan your journey. The staff Customer Service Agents are helpful and present.n· Convenient Access: There are two main entrances:n· Keele Entrance: Best for accessing Keele Street and the main Finch Ave W intersection.n· Fourwind Drive Entrance: Leads directly into the large and well-organized bus bay area.n· Passenger Facilities: The station includes important amenities like a passenger pick-up and drop-off zone and community parking, making it convenient for all types of trips.nnWhile parts of the station are still under construction for the future LRT connection, it remains a very functional and efficient station to use today. It has successfully replaced the old above-ground bus loops with a modern, integrated facility.nnHighly recommended for its accessibility, cleanliness, and its role as a vital transit hub for the community. I'm excited to see it become even more important once the Finch West LRT is up and running!
I want to acknowledge that the station staff is often wonderful; however, I have experienced multiple directional concerns that need to be addressed. On previous occasions, it was difficult to figure out how to find the stop for 41 southbound, specially confusing between 41 and 941 as has different stops for the station. I had to find a staff and ask for help which was provided with a smile and warmth in the attitude.nnToday, I had ample time to board the subway and waited patiently. The stop time at the station is just enough to board the train.nnI have disabilities that are not visible, and I find that rushing to board often poses a greater risk than simply allowing passengers a reasonable amount of time. While I appreciate the professionalism of many staff members, there have been instances where some have acted inconsiderately. Given my experiences, I would make recommendations for ttc to accommodate people with hidden disabilities.
A very nice station along the YUS extension into Vaughan. The station itself is modernly designed, spacious and is accessible. The bus bays are spacious and have good connections to buses that aren't the 41 Keele, as that is an outside transfer. Serves Line 1.
One of the Very Clean and Beautiful Line 1 TTC SUBWAY. Train Level is not really busy. Bus Level is busy with Finch Buses.
This station is vey well designed, it’s a pretty simple station with lots of colour! This station has 2 accessible entrances, one with direct connection to the bus terminal and the other on the corner of Keele and Finch. The station provides access to Line 1 and bus routes 36A, 36D and 36F Going west towards Humber college and Weston road, the 36 going east towards to Finch station and the 199B/A. Also you can catch the 41 Keele at street level on Keele street, the 41 does not enter the station. The station has / will have a bike storage area. The station is amazing and I highly recommend visiting or using it as a part of your daily commute.
