Great ambiance! Food was very well prepared. It's definitely more on the pricey side but worth it! Oysters were so delicious we had to order another round. I would recommend to go with your friends or co-workers. Make sure you make a reservation as it's a busy restaurant.
Amazing seafood restaurant and every dish was memorable! The black cod was cooked so juicy and tender and unimaginable! And the tasting dessert menu $24 for 2 was awesome!!!
The seafood is incredible. Had a wonderful birthday meal last night at a Portuguese restaurant here in Montreal called Ferreira. We sat looking into the kitchen and when we saw a big tray of something we asked the waiter what it was and were told it was for the staff and the chef actually sent us out a plate of it! Our only mistake is that we did not leave any room for the wonderful looking desserts. Our waiter was wonderful as the food.
This was my first Portuguese meal and it was surprisingly delicious. We ordered cod, the catch of the day, grilled octopus and burrata salad. The gateau with berries was light yet creamy. My companion really enjoyed his Portuguese wine. The restaurant was full yet the service was impeccable.
Wow what a spot! We came from ottawa and a looked up a decent dinner place that was walking distance from our hotel.. it was a Tuesday night and this place was packed! As one of customers told us : it’s an institution! Well service to begin with was respectful and to the point. He was pretty busy to serve other tables so a bit too efficient when taking the order! Everything we ordered tasted fresh and great. Started of with Salmon tartare and Burrata salad. Then for mains husband got the tuna, cooked to perfection, medium rare and bursting of flavour wow sized of carrot purée! I got the cod, with mushrooms and Since I can’t have alcohol they happily substituted the sauce for me.. we needed this lovely meal with Portuguese desserts that was just perfect!
Polished restaurant with excellent fish. Need a reservation as it is always busy. Went for a holiday lunch and it was worth it. We ordered a calamari and sardine apps just ok and a fish -Loup or Branzino - to share. It was probably the largest I've see, I thought too large for us to finish. It was perfectly cooked, we ate it all! Service was a little slower than ideal but very pleasant. Well be back for another special occasion... Highly recommended.
Very nice seafood restaurant. A little pricybut they really do use the good and fresh ingredients. And pretty good portion, especially their casserole dishes, definitely a must order. Also the desserts platter is glorious, everything is delicious and put together with care.
I came here for lunch. Surprisingly full of people on a Monday. The restaurant is famous for seafood, so we ordered some seafood dishes. In the seafood bowl, there’s some sand in the shrimp … the squid was good. The portugais dessert plate was okay, especially the natas were fresh and crispy. The waiter at that day was kind of in rush …
I just ate at Ferreira Café tonight and felt complied to leave the best review I could, because it truly deserves it. As a matter of fact, I’d be very happy to give this place a seven out of five with stars to spare. The ambiance is great, it’s lovely to watch the chefs make your food, and the service was the best one could hope for. The food, however, was no less than divine. It was a revelation—the sort of food one could imagine being eaten in heaven, or Mount Olympus or wherever, but it’s here, in Montreal, and you’re spooning or forking it onto your tongue, and it’s beyond words.
Very nice food. Octopus was grilled to perfection. Crispy yet melted in your mouth. Be sure to get the "Dessert Tasting Menu for 2"! It's not only delicious, but also a steal at $25. I just wish the music playlist was less dancey. I don't feel it fits the vibe of the restaurant's food and decor.
