Jano Grillades

It's a lovely setting for families, and friends to enjoy a meal. Much to choose from my choice was the potato cabbage soup with chorizo and the grilled calamari it was very tasty. My friends had the sardines and chicken which was also fabulous. There is absolutely no seafood smell in the restaurant which equals fresh seafood that's a big deal for me. Great service,very friendly staff. Good wine selection, the sangria was very good. There is a washroom, highchairs, it's at street level which can accommodate wheelchairs.

Phenomenal. Chicken was nice and moist, fries had flavour despite not looking like much. The spices were amazing and the whole thing was super filling. Not to mention all the bread we got with the family meal. Definitely recommend eating here!

I give it a 3.5. The food was tasty especially on the grill. The service was very friendly but was clearly understaffed as the night went on. We had to call our waiter for dessert after waiting for more than 20 minutes. We got the calamari and a platter of meat to share for two. The platter of meat you had a choice of 5 meats and/or seafood. We got the rabbit, quail, lamb, chicken and ribs. They were all grilled. The meat was cooled very well but they all tasted the same at the end. There weren't much spices or anything. The platter came with a salad each and fries. The calamari was excellent. It was perfectly cooked as it melted in your mouth while still having a little bit of a chew. It also came with a salad and fries but you could upgrade them for Portuguese chips for an extra 2$. The desserts were nice but a bit expensive especially the flan caramel. It looked like someone took a bite of my portion. Their natas were delicious. Crispy on the outside and soft and creamy on the inside. Overall, the food was good and we spent a good evening there. There were a few hiccups but nothing major.

I discovered Jano a few years back, a bit before the pandemic hit, and it quickly became one of my top restaurants in Montreal. Absolutely scrumptious and succulent Portugese chicken and lamb chops... which is by the way my favourite food there. Super kind staff, quite quaint and cozy; everything about this place is lovely. On top of that, it is located on the beautiful Saint-Lawrence street or Saint-Laurent if you're francophone. What more do you want?! =

Big portions for the takeout combo meat+fries+bread+salad : The chicken and bread were good. Their "mild" sauce is bit spicy. The homemade potato chips had no seasoning at all so they were pretty bland despite their nice crunchiness, not worth their expensive price in my opinion, best stay with the fries which are equally crunchy and fresh.

Nice vibe and nice food. Friendly staff and the quality of food was good. Sausage was a bit over cooked and hard to eat but the rest was good. Their homemade chips is quite something!!

I would come back again and try it in person. Perhaps the Uber impacted the overall food quality but the fries was not up to Montreal standards. The lamb chop had a strong marinated taste that I didn’t quite enjoy but my partner did. I loved the chicken the most and the grilled calamari was good. Would visit again but in person.

An absolutely wonderful family restaurant for people who love grill!! I have tried their whole sea bass grill succulent fish with signature hot sauce and loads of fries, lamb chops aromatic and good portion size but could be a little more tender & traditional portuguese grilled chicken! In short it was value for money and staff were really really helpful and friendly. Covid related hygiene standards were maintained. I will definitely visit again and try out other items from their menu. If you are considering this place please don't order their food via uber eats! Go visit them directly... Their food are best served fresh and the ambience goes perfect with the items.

Good place to have Portuguese chicken. Liked their ambience. Ordered their quarter chicken with fries and salads and Grilled Tilapia with fries and salads. The taste of Grilled tilapia was good not too exceptional. Also I would prefer their grilled chicken over grilled fish Pro tip: The hot sauce container that they give you does not have a stopper, and usually the top portion contain layers of oil and with the flavours being deposited at the bottom. Best to ask the server to shake the sauce for you so that they can do it safely.
