Story

The Fernie Hotel and Pubs offers a casual enviroment for both the locals and tourists. it truly is the Fernie Neighbourhood Pub. Dating back to the 1909, the Fernie Hotel and Pub is the most historical pub in town. If your in the mood for some homestyle pub food, and a welcoming casual enviroment this is the place to go. With 9 HD flat screen tv's, a great sound system for both Friday night D.J.'s and Saturday night bands, the Fernie always has something going on. We are now happy to announce we are a Kid friendly establishment 11am-9pm everyday.

4+ star rating after 500+ reviews says it all. Amongst the best Fish and chips I have ever had in my 50 years and I order fish and chips more than anything else when I eat at restaurants. I've also eaten fish and chips in the U.K. I'm located in Cranbrook and I'm pretty sure no one here is making fish and chips as good as those at the Taphouse. A little on the pricey side for a two piece, but well worth it. The fish pieces are quite large and I couldn't finish the fries despite being a big eater generally. I'd say it's safe to assume most or all of their meals are very good. I definitely recommend and I will definitely be returning. I can't speak to the hotel rooms but I gave them 5 stars just based upon what I saw in the pub.
This is one of the few dog friendly bars in Fernie, with a large patio. Food is good and the drinks are interesting. We had a very pleasant evening there, with live music. After being turned away from several other bars and restaurants who falsely told us a “BC rule” meant they couldn’t accommodate dogs, it was great to find no such nonsense from staff at the Fernie and we were so pleased to find somewhere to eat and drink with our boy in Fernie.
Great Food and service. The kids loved their meals and options ice cream and hot chocolate were big hits haha our main meals were delicious and good sized portions. The patio was large and we enjoyed our meal outside on a beautiful day. Would recommend making this a stop on your Fernie adventure.
Rating this place as a 5 because I feel like it may be underrated compared to other places in town. I’m gluten free. This smash burger was excellent. The bun was not as dense and crumbly as many. If you are GF, I’d highly recommend comingnnService was good. Good GF pale ale too
Had a fantastic fish & and chips special here Friday night. Located down town next to railway station. I will return on my next trip through Fernie. The number of locals present attests to how good the place is, large portion for a fair price. See menu pictures.
