The female Dr here is as cold as ice. Communication is not her strong suit. Having read the other reviews here, and the ones from her time spent out west, I see time has not made her a better doctor. In addition to poor communication she does not listen and makes too many incorrect assumptions. If you are unsure of what she’s said keep in mind she never looks up from her computer and types nonstop she doesn’t even try to hide her disdain for you. Canada needs more Doctors, but why we keep hiring ones from the bottom of the barrel I don’t know. Her low scores from all past and present patients are accurate. 1 star for somehow managing to pass the boards. Sadly, there is more to being a physician than simply getting your MD. I remember a time when being a physician meant something. When all your reviewers have something negative to say about the “care” they received, the individual in question needs to understand that the common denominator is her.
Today my appointment was so very pleasant, as always! I decided it is time I write something about this great family practice. The front desk and my doctor: Dr. E. Igbinovia are always so friendly and accommodating. I am so grateful that he is my doctor and that this family practice is so bright and cheerful! Happy Holidays!
My parents are in their 80’s. Moved from Montreal. Through Healthcare Connect, were picked up immediately by Dr J. Igbinovia. Anyone who has spent time caring for seniors know that they come with a combination of challenges such as deafness, mobility issues, thick files, rigid views, and in this case language barrier. After hearing about my parents’ first and subsequent visits, I felt relieved that they were in the hands of a patient, intelligent professional who understood couple dynamics, public safety, mental health, and clear communication. Her staff was so patient with my parents when they did not remember to put on a mask before entering the clinic. They also saved them a trip to Service Ontario by doing some of the paperwork with them so that the Dr could sign it sooner so that they could then apply for a disability parking permit. Dr has been punctual which in itself is a miracle given that patients often stumble in late, unexpectedly or sometimes take much longer than expected. Lots of behind the scenes work such as phone calls to specialists, insurance, schools, hospice, hospitals, labs can keep doctors at work during lunch hour and after hours. Within two visits, my parents were informed of issues identified through blood work. Follow up visits were prompt. Conversations were respectful but firm. My parents need that. Strong caring doctor who documents so she remembers what was discussed. Also an obligation. Now they need to re-evaluate their diet and lifestyle, issues that do not surprise me. I was referred by Doctor Connect for family doctor propose. Once I walked in I had a terrible experience with receptionist with her tone. That didn’t sound good. I immediately cancelled my application rather than her approval. Need some improvement in communication with patients it doesn’t cost anything to be polite.
Been seeing Dr Efosa for a few visits now and given how extreme the reviews are, here's my 2 cents. Clinic is always busy so it makes sense for them to turn away walk ins when it's not feasible to add in more patients as that would compromise patient care and result in physician burnout. Dr. Efosa is blunt and to the point but I do believe he cares about your wellbeing. If you want a doc that will hold your hand, he is not the doc for you. He often runs behind, but I find this is typical for any family doctor as some exams will take longer than others. When he does see me, I never feel rushed and have the time to ask questions. His exams feel quick but with adequate thoroughness.
The male doctor who saw us was very unprofessional and dismissed our concerns, while ushering us out of the room so that the next patients could come in. He probably spent more time typing what we said onto his computer, than actually talking to us about the medical issue in question, as many have noted. When we said we wanted to ask for more clarification/questions, he said to come back another time. On top of that, we had to wait almost an hour, despite having booked an appointment.
Beacon Hill practice still asking for wearing a mask, when you are visiting the doctor, which is fine but Since June 11, 2022, mask mandate in health care location has been removed. So, I think you should give a mask to the client if he doesn't have one and you are asking for it. I took an appointment for my son, and they asked me to wear a mask, but they don't give you one. They told me that I can go buy one from the pharmacy. I didn't have any money on me and didn't have my usual car with my mask supply Rush getting there after work. So, unfortunately my son didn't see the doctor and we are stuck over here with the same issue. Really disappointed about the situation because usually we get really good service, but this is not acceptable.
My daughters and I attended a meet and greet and agreed withDr. Joy that they would become patients at the clinic. I had their medical files transferred from their former family doctor's to BHFP. We visited the clinic for a yearly checkup without incident. My elder daughter also attended later for a sore back. At that time. we were told we were not on her roster. I tried to make appointments via the online interface for daughters and my requests were denied. I decided to transfer to another family practice and requested my daughters' medical files. The secretary told me she'd have to check with the doctor and then told me that it would cost me $100 per child to have their 2 and 3 visits respectively burned onto cd. I told them I don't have a cd reader and they told me to bring my own USB storage key. So they are charging me $200 for 5 visits total. My experience with this office was extremely poor. In it for the money.
Dr. Joy and her staff are very friendly. Front desk picks up right away and books us in right away. Today my daughter had red eyes like blood in them and they took us in the same day. Dr. Joy checked her and her teddy who doesn't even have ohip : Happy to have a family doctor for me and my child.
I have no glue who did see me in the afternoon of October 18/22. I assume it was a medical doctor, she wasn’t wearing a lab coat or a name tag either and neither did she introduce herself. All I remember about her is her long, long, polished artificial nails. Not very hygienic or professional.
