Falmouth Museums On The Green

About

Museums on the Green's two 18th-century houses and 19th century barn

Story

The Falmouth Historical Society's mission is to preserve, present, celebrate, and share the history of the Cape Cod town of Falmouth through collections, educational programs, interpretive exhibits and Museums on the Green. In accordance with its mission, the Falmouth Historical Society owns and operates Museums on the Green, located on a two-acre complex in the heart of historic Falmouth Village. Two 18th century houses showcase period furnishings, fine arts, handmade quilts and samplers. Special exhibits depict Falmouth's 19th century maritime industries, the practice of pre-Civil War medicine, and the life of Katharine Lee Bates, Falmouth-born author of "America the Beautiful."

Knowledgeable and friendly volunteer staff gave us a great tour in the Dr John Wick's home next to the museum. A nice way to learn about the town's history during the colonial age.
