Fabulous place to visit to get acquainted with traditional boat building. The crew in the boat shop were welcoming and enthusiastic. Lots a good old wooden boats to look at. I recommend a visit for anyone interested in boat building. Why only 3 stars? Unfortunately the person at the ticket counter was rude. I brought my 1 year old with me to give him exposure to wooden boats, he got exposed to bad customer service as well. I had to prompt this person, to which she replied “what?” while looking at her phone. She was then kurt throughout the transaction. My one year old showed more manners than this person. A suggestion: If you’re having a bad day, don’t convey it to customers, learn to deal with it, put on a smile for those who pay your salary. Patrick E. Sandwich

This smallish museum has an amazing amount of stuff to see. It's not very handicapped-friendly, and my wife has trouble getting around, so we missed part of it and spent less time than I would have liked on the rest. There's some interactive stuff -- I learned something about lead lines that I never knew -- and the boar building display was quite remarkable. It's small, and while it wasn't crowded when we visited in May, I can see where it might be crowded at more busy times of year. I'd return!

..all maritime museums have a common thing the Sea and the Mariners..so every mariner of whatever nationality feels being it's home..in land you see the story of mariners and their sea but also their adventure in living from the sea..their life is in the Museums..but their heart is shared when they talk to each other there no boundary in the vast seas and their ships..Cape Cod has a long history to tell to people and teach them that Sea unites peoples..
