Housed in the historic Brooks Academy, the Harwich Historical Society collects, preserves, and presents the history of Harwich through exhibitions, education programs, active collecting, and research. Museum exhibits feature the Cape's most extensive cranberry culture display and a working HO-scale model layout of the Lower Cape. Coming in 2015 is the Elmer Crowell Barn, the reconstructed workshop of the world famous Harwich bird carver.
Gift shop at museum and through website offers regional themed items along with books about local history for all ages.
