Great Campground. I was docked at Bay 3. Really convenient camping ground when compared to other locations. There is a shell nearby so one can get constant supply of firewood and even an access to a convenience store. We'll though it's like a coin some might not like it. I also like the availability of network on the site. Just have fun eating marshmallows having bonfire and then just chilling in the warm fire. This is a perfect summer time place. Though beware there are deer and bear so keep the food enclosed and if garbage away from the campsite and no major noise after 11 pm just like houses. Other than that perfect.
This camp is next to Highway 1, close to the lake, the sunset is particularly beautiful, you can swim in summer‍, fish in the lake, and the camp charges are reasonable. But there are many mosquitoes at night, so be prepared to prevent mosquitoes. The facilities inside are a bit outdated, the door of the bathroom can't be closed, and the hot shower is very good
Mosquitoes were pretty bad so bring bug spray, we had a fire going in afternoon to keep bugs away and Mosquitoe coil. Didn't go for hikes as it rained but loved the souvenir shop and went for gondolas pizza. Their gluten-free pizzas are Awesome! We did have some trouble sleeping as noise from highway was a bit loud, and noisy neighbors who didn't know that after 11pm in provincial parks is quiet time. Would suggest Bay 2 or 4 as 3 has older washroom and no beach.
If getting away from silence, solitude and trees are what you're needing, then Falcon Lake campground is all you need! Do you long for the sounds of highway traffic every hour of the day...and night? Do you seek people camping so close combined with no underbrush to separate you? Then look no further! Potable water, yes. Groceries if need, check. But beyond that, this was not our cup of tea. The bathrooms weren't bad, the lake is overcrowded with boat traffic, there's not much of a view, the beach wasn't bad, the hike #5 was terribly disappointing pretty much a road ending at a private drive with no access to High Lake, and to top it off there was litter everywhere! Our site bay 3 site 34 was absolutely the worst camping site we've ever been to...and we had one of the better sites: I just can't for the life of me understand how people can give this campsite a 5 star? Sure there's golf, mini golf, a beach, a store, ice cream, restaurant, beaches, hiking...but they certainly do not ad up to 5 star. There needs to be a different genre of camping reviews or something: Those who like city camping and those who actually want to be away from city life. This is city living...in a tent.
Nice treed campsites, great little beach, and a large playground/picnic area. The only issue is the highway near by is very noisy. Maybe if you can think of it as white noise? Anyway, we enjoyed our stay there.
A nice campground. Bay 4 was great. Easy walk to a campground beach. Good amenities, though some of the sites are a little small/tight, so check carefully when booking.
It was very nice, well-maintained campground with spacious sites. It was also great that we had a source of potable water very close to our site
Excellent campground! Very clean and well kept. The bathroom near our site in Bay 5 was very clean. Site 12 in Bay 5 was huge!!! The beach there was nice too, but heads up, I got swimmers itch from it! My only negative things to say are that the quiet time doesn’t seem to be enforced. There were people in one site screaming and yelling until well past 2am. Also, the campground is very close to the highway and you hear the trucks going by all night. It didn’t bother me much but if you’re looking for a tranquil site, this isn’t for you! Overall though, had a great time and will definitely be back!
Have camped there twice. Both were excellent adventures. My son loved fishing and hiking. Amenities are close. Taking a drive to other locations around Falcon is always a good way to spend a day as well. Will definitely return. We tented both times, grounds were quiet, even when fully packed. Bathrooms were cleaned often. Water was available. Garbage disposal was easy.
Nice site, cheap, very handy to beach and town. Facilities a little weak and aging. Why do so many campgrounds put the generator-loving RVs in the nice quiet areas and the quiet-loving tent people us near the highway??
