Loved this campground! Great sandy beach and a beautiful view from the campsites that overlook the lake. The sites are spread out among the hilly bedrock and is is incredibly scenic. Great for canoeing, fishing, and hiking.
Great place! Nice hike and beautiful campground. It sucks to get there because of the road, about 52km gravel, but worth the drive.
A bit tough to navigate the last 45 minutes of the road, but it is so worth it! The sites are mostly very private. The beach is large, water is clean, lake is massive! There are dozens of islands to dock at. Gorgeous bedrock everywhere to rest on. Spectacular.
This campground is rustic and remote, if that is what you are into it is a great destination and I very much enjoyed my time there. I wish that there was a bit more privacy between my site and my neighbors, however this is not surprising and is a challenge at all campgrounds. We did the hike and really enjoyed our day walking around the lake, gorgeous views and a good work out too.
Absolutely amazing experience camping here. Staff were very friendly and gave us some great tips. The campground is beautiful and maintained so well. We booked another stay while we were there as we were so impressed and look forward to coming back many many times.
My family has been coming here for over 30 years. Just this past summer, July 2022, Site 37, we complained about our fire pit cover which has been detached for numerous years. Steve, from Manitoba Parks in Lac du Bonnet, was kind enough to replace it almost immediately. He also relocated the site marker so it was more visable. Big props to him for doing such a wonderful job.
Very beautiful campground! I loved the hiking trail! Serene and the sites are well treed!
Great sites, helpful camp lady, clean. Bring extra wood, the jack pine they give you is bone dry and only good for an hour or so.
But there were too much mosquitoes during evening and the road are pretty bad. Other than that the place is really amazing.
Interesting trail almost as challenging as Hunt lake trail, even more scenic, as the entire trail is close and around the lake. The only issue is when lake water level is high, there are some wet sections, about 3 kms 2/3 into the trail, the broken boardwalk and log made it not passable, unless getting into chest high water.
