Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Decorah

Very nice new hotel in great easy to access location. Rooms are cozy but well decorated, designed and cleaned. Front desk staff is very friendly and all of our needs were met in a efficient and competent manner. Would definitely stay again!

Fairfield Inn & Suites is almost like being at home. The people there work hard to make sure their guest are comfortable & have what they need. I love going there cause they are friendly & great people. Housekeeping always makes sure I have what I need & if they don't have it on their cart they will take the time to find it & the complimentary breakfast is amazing. The kitchen staff works hard to make sure you get a good breakfast to start your day. I would recommend this place to anyone & I enjoyed it so much I plan to go back again.

Loved it. The bed was firm, very comfortable for our taste. The room had plenty of room, nice TV with Netflix/Hulu/etc. Large shower - 3 or 4 people could get in there if they were really friendly, but I showered by myself. Black-out curtains on the window so low light if you want to sleep during the day. I didn't look at the pool but the fitness room had a good assortment of exercise machines. The building is near new. It was quiet when we were there but I suspect it could be a bit noisy if crowded. There was a 5 yr old with huge stomping feet in the morning when they were going to the pool. It wasn't really a disturbance as we are used to having kids around but that is the reason I think it could get noisy at times here. I heard coyotes outside during the night but was too lazy to get up and try to see them. Breakfast was pretty decent for a free hotel breakfast. Yogurt, a couple of kinds of fruit, eggs & ham, hard boiled eggs, waffles, an assortment of juices - mostly stuff that comes off a truck, but filling and decent. I asked about discounts, veteran and senior, and was told the government price was $94 (regular price $79 or 74, not sure) and senior price was $67. I thought the government, or veteran, price was higher than regular price but didn't have time to discuss it. $67 was a great price for this hotel. If I need a hotel in Decorah again I'll choose this one.

New hotel, open less than a year. Stayed in a king suite. Both rooms have smart TVs with several streaming services preloaded, which is nice. Comfortable beds, large bathrooms and showers. Continental breakfast in the morning, which is average.

New property smallish rooms. Very well appointed just a small floor plan. Most friendly staff. Every single staff member was so genuinely nice. A person comes to expect that in this area, Decorah is more of a feeling than a destination. At a new un-historic modern hotel good to see they captured that element. The breakfast attendant was the most friendly and conscientious of any we have ever had anywhere. Free breakfast is usually served up in a take it or leave it style but Not here. Shuttle to main street, luther etc would be nice at night for the two night minimum price point. Especially for Luther Christmas weekend.
