Got an email last night stating that the Thornhill location would be closing the next day! What ridiculous short notice. Owners clearly knew that they would be closing as they haven't paid rent there in probably a year see attached photo, thats hanging outside of the gym. They owe over $200,000 in rent. The $50 fee to "improve the gym" was just a last grab at any money they could possibly get from their members before they closed. There were no plans to improve the gym, they just lied and stole as much money as they could from us. What a scam. Google the owners, they’ve already done this exact thing with another gym they owned in the past.
When I opened my statement beginning of September I noticed 2 charges of ~$55 each. I immediately thought that they raised my fees. I called the gym and to my surprise I was wrong. They actually charged a fee that I have not authorized. They charged some sort of "gym improvement" fee. Love the idea, I own a store decide to renovate and charge my clients who bought from me in the past to pay for it. Great idea!!!!. Saying that months ago they convinced me to pay $139 to lower my monthly fee. Same time they advised me by doing that they will never raise my monthly fee from what I will be paying. So how does this stand up to their promise? I am sure there are many of you reading this recall the gym prior to this one "Pavilion" who has done the same thing charging people illegally without any explanation. Looks like this gym is following the steps of Pavilion. Very disappointed and will be canceling my membership if this does not get resolved
I’m using this gym for almost a year. However over the last few months it has honestly Been unbearable, scattered all over the place equipment” all broken that is also very poorly maintained. This gym has the potential to be a great place to workout but because of the lack of effort put into the care and maintenance of the facility is very poor weight everywhere on the floor now one cleaning the place after a weeks. Even though management gets specific complaints on faulty equipment for weeks - they do not fix it. Men's bathrooms/change rooms are very dirty, people shave in them and the hair is left for days. I have personally never seen a cleaning staff and I'm there usually at nights. I would love to see some more hockey/sports on the tv's, I'm sure a lot of people would. It's basically two channels on the 15 Tv's they have . Saunas should be opened a little later, basically they close down at different times and it depends on who is a the front and leaves early. And the sale man suppose make sale not to kick people out of room and so mean turning off light on people and kick them out. Otherwise great facility for a gym, but for the price I am paying it should be top notch. You guys sold me on the fact this was a more expensive gym because it was better, but I cannot use half the facilities and I'm paying double, than I normally should. It definitely has the potential to be better but I'm not happy and I'm planning to move on after my contract unless some of these issues are addressed.

If you want to make sure people aren't abusing the 24/7 gym put somebody at the desk. Why annoy other people with alarms and thumb scanners. Great equipment, great atmosphere, and very clean. I've been with express for 5 years now since it first opened the Vaughan location this gym is very great. If your complaining about minor things then planet fitness is where you should be. Overall amazing check it out worth your money.
Wish there was an option for 6/5. This is the best gym I have ever been to. The equipment is pristine and the membership costs are low, and don't require commitment. The bathrooms are better than the ones at the Delta! Most importantly, in my time at this gym I went from 217lbs down to 150lbs!!!!!!!!! Would not have been possible without the constant support and encouragement from the PTs who work there. On my way to becoming a better, healthier me. So proud of myself. Thank you, Express Fitness. I'll see you tonight for leg day!
I did the 3 day trial with this gym. Overall the gym is okay, it’s almost never busyI went at 6pm and it was quiet. It’s the vibe that didn’t cut it for me. Washrooms and the changing rooms were fine. The service was bad, the person at the front desk took hardly any efforts to show me around or explain the packages. I wouldn’t recommend it for first timers. Also, they have a loyalty program where a 5-star rating earns you points towards a free month or other freebies! Not fair. Edit: I’m going to change my rating from 3 stars to 1 star cause what you replied isn’t true. Your website has changed now but I still have a screen grab of when it CLEARLY said ‘+400pts for 5 star Google Review’.
Recently we were charged a fee of 55 dollars each, me and my husband additional to our membership fee. Yes, we received the email but I sent a reply that I disagree with this fee and it is illegal to put their business maintenance expenses on the shoulders of the customers to whom they guaranteed lifetime membership fee. The answer their manager in Thornhill location gave us was you don't like it - stop coming here. On our request he sent an email to the owner of the gym with the request to contact us. This request was ignored. They kind of blackmail you either you pay this additional fee or get out and find yourself another gym. I do not like this attitude and will find out with Better Business Bureau and Ontario Consumer Protection program if they legally can do this to their customers of many years.
Overall friendly atmosphere with a good amount of space and selection of equipment. There’s also the added benefit of having a pool/sauna and a basketball court. The entirety of the gym is kept relatively clean as improvements continue to be made.
The worse service ever. They over charged my credit card after my year membership was over. The staff mislead you when you can cancel to avoid fees and yet I still got the fees! The manager never follows a schedule or commits to appointments if you need to cancel or have any concerns. I took time off work just to come in for 11:30am to cancel my membership. I called to make sure the manager would be in. They said yes they will be in by 11. I come 11:30 and they say sorry you have to come back at 3pm they aren’t coming anymore. I never had such poor service. I wouldn’t recommend this gym to anyone!! Do not go here!
