I got rescheduled by this clinic because someone was sick, which is fine. But the date they gave me didn't work for me. Their self serve rescheduling tool only offered me appointments weeks out. When I phoned, they said I needed to have a hearing test done for my son before he turned 9 weeks old, and all available appointments we're well after that. I ended up needing to book at a clinic one hour away. They use a central booking service, and this service can only use electronic methods of communication with the clinics. When I phoned while driving to the clinic they said the only was to communicate with them was if I called them. Which I couldn't take their number down to so. As I was going to the clinic an hour away, I got caught behind a cargo train and got caught in bad traffic making me 10 minutes late. When I got there the new clinic didn't want to see me. They did eventually fit me in, but there was lots of opportunity here to make things easier without much fan fair.
My son has been a client for almost 5 years now. Our physio experience was amazing, because our therapist Sharda genuinely cared about our son, this was seen through her service from the moment we started therapy to discharge and even beyond - she supported our child and completed all tasks that had been initiated while he was under her care. Our speech journey has been absolutely unremarkable with no clear guidance. Kids with abilities similar to our child have AAC devices already meanwhile we are on a waitlist and were told of a list of unnecessary requirements to be "eligible" for an AAC device. Absolutely ridiculous. The only reason he is now on the ADRS waitlist is because I took the initiative, put an AAC app on our own Android tablet and started sending him to school with it which finally began the conversation again about his eligibility for an AAC device. The seating clinic also had to be convinced that my son needs a wheelchair not a stroller, it took almost 6 months just to get an appointment to get things rolling. Again, if I hadn't initiated this request my son would still be using a stroller. The issue I have with this "treatment centre" is parents need to do their research and advocate constantly! Most of the therapists simply do not see the clients enough to know or care about them, or they have insane waitlists apparently. If it wasn't for our private therapists - PT, OT, SLP guidance our son would not have progressed as he did. Unfortunately we don't have a choice to receive services from another organization. Ultimately our children are affected by these gaps in treatment, and there is 0 accountability and space provided to give feedback on the service received. Anonymous surveys sent by ErinOaks for feedback do not count.
They have no waiting area for the patient’s attendants. We were asked to wait in the parking area outside in the cold with 3 kids
Just completed 8 weeks of speech therapy with Lorraine and absolutely love it. Had the best experience ever. Loraine is amazing at her job. She is so good with kids.
Our experience has been absolutely horrible more so due to one of their partners that they referred us to. There are some really wonderful staff here but as a whole, stay clear and go private if you can. If they refer you to NEAC, put your foot down and refuse 100%. My family has been on an emotional rollercoaster and a lot of time, energy and emotion has been wasted by long waitlists, long drawn out processes and lack of compentency. Reports submitted by other outside providers who actually know your child and work with them on a consistent basis are not taken into consideration. This was awful. I cannot emphasize how awful. Now I 'erase', go private and pretend this never happened.
When they sent me away I literally cried... my poor daughter... There is no good way to go there if you don't have a car in the winter since you will worry that they will make you wait too long outside. Rented a car, missed work just to go to the appointment and got sent away because the appointment they told me was 9:45 and they think they said 9:30. I even asked them to email me an appointment when they called but apparently they don't do emails. I got there at 9:50 because the roads are bad and on the phone call, they told me that I don't have to take the antigen test if I had a booster, but when they saw my certificate, it was too recent. After I dropped my daughter off the daycare I cried... so much arrangement to get to a 9min appointment and all for nothing. And I don't have a choice to do this all over again.
Erinoak is a center for treatment and development, and the staff is wonderful. I take my toddler there for occupational therapy and physio therapy. Her therapist, Dana Henderson has been doing her treatment since she was 2 years old and my daughter has learned and grown so much since then. The folks there, from the receptionist,Anita, to the therapists know how to interact with kids to get the best out of them.
Poor communication and mismanagement from Erinoakkids costing families both time and money. and the only excuse they have that they are non-profitable organization and can't do anything for their mistakes.
Erinoakkids is such a great Center to help families with special needs kids, we had a wonderful support from the whole team , my kids have a great service navigator, her name is Maria Zborowski, I swear I could never believe such kind of person existed till we met her, she helped us sooo much to navigate all the supports that our kids were qualified for, , she always makes sure everything that we needed was in place, I am not able to go to the centre physically all the time and leave the kid with oxygen support and other kids who are on wheelchairs, and she could drive all the way to our house , even it is just a signature for a document , now we have to move out of Halton, just wanted to say thank you to the entire Erinoakkids team and special thank you to Ms.Maria , thank you sooo much for taking such a great care to us,
