I stayed 3 nights last week in the newer building, which is across the street from the Sleeping Bear Dunes Visitor Center. My room was very clean and comfortable. Bed was super comfortable. Neighborhood, the entire town seemed safe. One warning: currently there seems to be no place for breakfast that I could find or place to purchase breakfast items. Coffee is provided in the rooms, so come prepared with what else you need. There is no grocery store. Surprisingly, the gas station next door doesn't have fresh pastry or donuts! However, down the street to the west is a house that sells baked items at a sidewalk stand. Food was great. There are at least 2 good restaurants close by for lunch/dinner. The people running this hotel are friendly and responsive. I will definitely stay here again when I visit the Dunes.
Nothing but the best. Cleanest rooms I’ve ever been in. Everything is fresh and new and well taken care. Management was very friendly and helpful from the office staff to the cleaning staff, even the handyman was friendly. Location is great. Nice and quiet and within short walks to anything you could need. Hands down the nicest place in the area. Would definitely recommend!
Affordable, great location a short walk from the beach and everything we needed, laid-back vibe with everything clean and new. Although the place is friendly for families and pets, we were surprised at how quiet and peaceful it was as well. The motel structure with open-air corridors and stairs also felt safer in the time of covid. Our room was large, and we appreciated having a coffee maker, fridge, and microwave inside.
Was so pleasantly surprised by our room! Booked last minute and coming in at night to a VERY CLEAN ROOM was so wonderful!!! Super nice shower and bathroom, clean and new carpet and simple clean furnishings. Beds were very comfy with clean bleached blankets and sheets. Simple hotel layout with great service, highly recommend for couples or small families looking to stay close to the dunes or downtown Glen Arbor!
Great hotel. Very clean. Quiet boutique hotel. Wish room had a list of businesses with address and brief explanation. We discovered the hotel is close to downtown businesses. Shipwreck Cafe around the corner for breakfast and coffee. Pizza place too. Secret Garden gift shop is nice for souvenirs for everyone on your list. Support small business.
Great location for sure. This great location is reflected in the price, so the room itself would not be considered a good value. The construction seems to be "builder grade"/basic. The management caters toward individuals that just want to use the room to sleep. Our group was large and they did not want us to congregate anywhere on the hotel grounds.
We are just leaving from our 4 night stay here and it's been a wonderful and peaceful experience. Highly recommend this Inn. It is by far the cleanest place we have ever stayed in. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Great water pressure and the water was clean and ok to drink. Enjoyed the Keurig coffee maker in room with all you need to make your morning cup of coffee. Nice microwave and small fridge to keep your picnic foods in. Plenty of counter space to keep your food and snacks on and shelving for clothes etc. as well as a place for hanging clothes. The staff was friendly and helpful and easy to work with. You can walk down to the beach and watch the sunset in the evening at Empire beach with Empire Bluff just south of beach and Sleeping Bear Dunes to the north within view. The beach also has a shore and pier on South Barr lake and two seperate playgrounds for the kids. Check out the Sleeping Bear Dunes welcome center right across the street from the Inn. There isn't a lot in the village itself but there are a few lunch/ dinner spots and a few cute tourist spots in walking distance, gas station next door, and your within driving distance of many other needs. So glad we found this wonderful Inn. Definitely will be our center base on our next trip up.
We stayed in the newer building. The room was spotless and quite large. The linens were top notch and the bed was quite comfortable. The location is perfect for exploring Sleeping Bear Dunes.
Rooms had great amenities and close to empire bluff trail and visitor center but 20 minutes away from most trail heads and the dune climb.Rooms: 5/5
Really was pleasantly surprised! Everything seems freshly redone. The room was very clean comfortable. The shower was fantastic and the towels even felt better quality than you usually get in motels! The town is super cute and the beach is just down the road and a really great place to enjoy the lake.Rooms: 5/5
