My vehicle when first started would run a little rough when it was first cold, but ran great the rest of the time, gas mileage was the same, there was service engine light on. The vehicle had 91k miles on it. I took it to Eldon's to be checked out well here what they found, they said my vehicle was in limp mode and they were surprised it would even start. They said it needed: new intake manifold gaskets, knock sensors, new plugs, wires, radiator flush, throttle body cleaned and rebuilt and a change. (They didn't even look at the oil change sticker on the window where it had recently been changed). The total bill was going to be over $3500.00. They charged me $72.00 to check it out and they said the computer on my vehicle was full of codes and the service engine light was on. I couldn't believe a vehicle that run fine except when cold in the mornings and then clear up after warmed up could need all this. I wasn't happy and left and then the owner himself called me later that evening and said well he was sorry but it needed all of this work. I told him that I didn't think so. I took the vehicle down to a shop down the street and got a second opinion. Guess what they said, no codes were showing, and the only thing they said was needed was to replace the intake manifold gaskets, because these years had some issues. Nothing else was wrong with the car. I waited 8 months to write this review just to be sure that the vehicle was going to be ok. The vehicle runs perfect and I spent $400 to get it fixed instead of letting this shop rip me off for over $3500. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

We spent $4,400 to fix an oil leak over the course of 3 months. Days upon days Eldon had the car. At the end of all the different trips to the shop and all the money spent, he said it would cost an additional $800 for him to stop the oil leakage. We opted to have him leave the key in the car, and said we'd pick it up later.
He did. Left the key in the car, the door unlocked, and the window down.
I feel disappointed that we have had to "buy" this car a second time.

We use to take all of our vehicles to Eldon's several years ago but then we got the feeling they were milking us. After almost another $1000 estimate we decided to look elsewhere and called the dealership for a price comparison. The dealership was 1/2 the price for the same work and so was other auto care places we called. When I mentioned it to Eldon, he "reworked" his estimate so it was closer to what the dealership was charging for the same work but still higher. So, we stopped going to them.
Recently though my son's car wouldn't start and they were the only place near us that could get him in that day so we decided to give them another shot to see if they were still out of line. Again, another $900+ estimate and when I went in to see what they were charging him for, there was a lot of things he didn't ask for to be done (he just wanted it to start) and even some apparent double labor on some of the items (i.e. you have to take A off to replace B and since we are telling you that you need a new A, we're going to charge you to take off and replace B and A separately even though we needed to take off and put on A to replace B).
Also, their diagnosis fees do not apply to work being done like at many other auto care places.

Great work went in for a oil change.wich is cheaper than I could do it myself, tech did point out some other problems wich I already knew about, having been to another shop and gotten a quote I could not afford I opted to just do the oil change at eldons.tech showed my the problem and turns out just needed a few bolts tightened wich he did for free.shure beats the other shops price.cant speak for the other reviewers but my service was great, couldn't get it done cheaper if I bought parts and did it myself.thx
