Story

Eastern Niagara Health (ENH) System is a major community health resource for eastern Niagara County and consists of Eastern Niagara Hospital’s acute care site in the City of Lockport, outpatient service facilities in the Towns of Lockport and Newfane, and the Niagara Regional Surgery Center. ENH is the only provider of acute care hospital services in eastern Niagara County.

To provide enhanced care coordination, ENH is affiliated with Kaleida Health. Patients have access to appropriate care locally and can be seamlessly transitioned to the tertiary network at places like the Gates Vascular Institute, Buffalo General Medical Center and the Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo.

Honestly, nobody goes to the hospital because it's a fun thing to do. Nobody's happy about it. Going to the hospital will require a lot of waiting around, and it is what it is. They're trying to take care of everyone who walks through the door. I had an outpatient operation and everyone from the nurses to the anesthesiologists to the the surgeon to the admins to the phlebotomists were perfectly pleasant and made my hospital experience a decent one, given the circumstances that got me there. They were compassionate and helpful. They did everything they could to ensure that my stay was as comfortable as possible, and from what I noticed, they extended that same courtesy and respect to the other patients who were there. The nurses Darcy and Cassandra are awesome! I was also there several months ago for some routine imaging, and the X-ray technicians are very nice as well. I was in and out.

The nurses & other staff of the ICU took excellent care of our family member & I can't say enough good things about them. They were exceptionally generous with us concerning visiting times & always answered our questions & addressed our concerns. We are very grateful for the care he received.

The management refuses to address abusive bullying behavior from the charge nurse on 2center, and instead attacks and belittles any staff members who report her. Many staff members have transferred units or quit because of this. The management favorites can do no wrong and everyone else is expendable. Even patients have complained about the incompetent manager of 2center and reported they will not be returning. Save yourself the stress and go work or be treated at a respectable hospital.

My mother was having pain in her leg and we were concerned about a blood clot. So she gets to the ER around 4:30. The doctor asks her questions and doesn't believe it to be a blood clot but would do an ultrasound anyway to make sure. That sounded fine, except the hospital didn't have an ultrasound machine! They had to call someone to bring it and that would be at least another hour and then once they got it hooked it up, do the test, and get the results that would be another hour or more. When my mother wasn't home by 6:30 I called her and asked what was going on. When I found out they didn't have an ultrasound I told her to just sign out AMA. She would be there all night otherwise. The nurses warned that leaving could result in death. I'm sorry but going to ENH could result in death. How do you not have an ultrasound machine on hand? They said the Urgent Care on Transit didn't have the machine either. That was purely ridiculous. I'll be going for major surgery soon and I refused to be done at Lockport for it. If anything major needs to be done, find a professional in that field of choice and go elsewhere. If you can help it, do not come to Lockport for anything major. All they're good for is stitches and broken bones.

My brother spent several days in 2 north . The room was thilthy dirty, I spotted a bug crawling in & out of the baseboard, his nightstand drawer was hanging broken, 90% of his nurses were so rude, They laughed at a patient who was going through withdrawl and ignored all the other patients who were complaining about her screaming & vulgaraties. The only plus for this hospital was the food . It was just like home cooked, excellent tasting, he was stuffed. Dietary always came up & checked up to make sure he received everything & if he needed anything else. Dietary did a A+ job. as far as everything else F- Also it took 2days for them to clean my brothers infected diabedic toe.
