There has been small annoyances with Dorval Medical that have been tolerable over the years which I've ignored. However, today my father was unable to participate in therapy for Parkinson's disease because my request for a medical clearance form was ignored. Let me break down the experience further: 1. Last Monday, we called ahead to inform that we were sending urgent medical forms. 2. We proceeded to immediately send the forms via email. 3. A follow up email was sent Friday after radio silence all week. We also called reception to get hold of the medical form person and was told that she doesn't work on Fridays. 4. I called this morning to find out what happened to my fathers forms in a last minute attempt to get him into therapy. I was told that the original email did not have an attachment and that my follow up email was read but ignored. I checked my email sent history to ensure that an attachment was included and my mother who was copied on the email confirmed that she received one. Basically, I get that requests may take some time and that's why it was sent a week prior to therapy but there's no excuse for what happened here.
I've been going here since I was a kid and all my family members do too. My family Dr visited me in the old Oakville Trafalgar Hospital when I was admitted years ago. The other reviews seem to say things about the receptionists but I've never ever had an issue with them. Sometimes they're just focused on their job, as we all can be. No problem there, unless you're self-entitled. Thanks to Dorval Medical & everyone there for providing much needed help over the years. Oh, and the ladies at the lab are really good with needles. Never feel a thing.
Every doctor and the social worker I've seen are very smart, understanding and caring. They are all very willing to take as much time as you need to help you as much as they can. Very welcoming and friendly as well. Most of the time you can get same day appointments easy. The only reason this is not a full 5 stars is because of the reception staff. One lady told me to wait in the wrong place and made me miss my counselling appointment, and an hour of my life. By the time I went back to ask what was taking so long, she was on lunch and I was speaking to a different lady who told me I couldn't have another appointment for over a month. She did not apologize or tell me there's no way she could fix the mistake, she just said no and went back to work, leaving me standing there waiting for her response until she gave me a dirty look which was my queue to leave. I had driven a long ways and missed work for it and they couldn't even act nice towards me. A different time, the lady that made me originally miss that appointment, made fun of me to my face that I could not remember the name of the doctor who was filling in for my regular doctor, telling me that she JUST told me her name before the hour long appointment, that I HAVE to remember it and proceeding to say her name multiple times extremely slowly as if I'm stupid. Little does she know I came to see the doctor for my extreme anxiety and her rudeness gave me a panic attack. Your reception is the face of your business. Why pick people who are so rude to your clients that they never want to come back?
Have been going to this medical centre for 3 decades and love my doctor, she is the best! The only drawback is the receptionist is very rude and unprofessional and doesn't seem to care about helping patients! I know sometimes people have bad days and especially the healthcare industry can be challenging but there is no excuse to be rude or insensitive! I would suggest the receptionists are provided proper sensitivity training!
Doctors and Nurses are great! Reception is tough and has been as long as I have been going. I’ve left 2 messages in last 2 days. Told them urgent and in need of medication. No response and just now called twice and was bounced into voicemail. No confidence whatsoever that I will be helped and in extreme discomfort. Response should have been much, much better.
We’ve had the best care here for the past five years. It’s rare if we can’t get an appointment when we need it with our doctor and often we can see another doctor or the nurse practitioner otherwise. Everyone is so caring and goes above and beyond to make sure we get the care we need.
our family has been receiving care at Dorval Medical for over 2 decades. We have always found our care team to be attentive and sensitve. Same day appointments are such a blessing to us. 100 percent would recommend.
I love this clinic. They always have time for me and they are very knowledgeable. The staff are attentive and listen to their clients. I feel like I have a say in my care. This is the best I've gotten since I moved back here form the states. The staff is even good with my daughter.
It took 3 calls and 3 visits to get a simple medical clearance letter signed. No letter offered so we made our own. Then the Dr signed it incorrectly. Clearly he hadn't even read it. The receptionist was bordering on rude. No interest in helping. "I don't know anything about it". Right. Sad.
I have Dr Found and love her, however reviews are accurate that reception is horrible to deal with with the exception of Nancy, who is amazing herself.
