Can't please everyone, but this place really good value for money! Good quantity and quality, service is not bad at all for a busy restaurant like this. It's very popular and you will need to wait in line during rush hours. Recommended!
This restaurant was very busy. We made a reservation for 10 at 8:30pm. We arrived on time but still needed to wait for 30 minutes. You needed to walk a long hallway to enter the dining room. The decor was very dated. It was a bit stuffy. However, the food was pretty good and they had . The price of the deep fried pigeon was affordable. They didn't offer complementary dessert.
On June 28th, I visited Dong Kee for a late-night supper and ordered three dishes: stir-fried vermicelli, clams in black bean sauce, and honey-glazed oysters.nnEach dish was absolutely delicious, bursting with wok-hay and perfectly balanced flavors.nnThe stir-fried vermicelli stood out, cooked to an intense savory notes.nnThe clams and oysters were impressively large and fresh, enhancing the overall experience.nnNo wonder the place was packed even late at night!nnEven though the deco and interior is a bit rundown, I still think that this place is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic, flavorful Cantonese cuisine.nnHighly recommended!
Overall the food are good. But the service was awful. Everything we requested, the server said No, without trying to look for it. We asked for soy sauce for fried squid, she said no. We asked for dessert, she even told me they don’t have enough bowls. Ridiculous, a restaurant opened and said no utensils for customers. The attitude of staff was so bad that I have ever seen. However, tips is included in the bill and I was unable to reflect my dissatisfaction through that.
I didn't ask for much, I know it's not 5 stars restaurant so I know what I am expecting, but oh man, they look you down as I didn't dress like mr ceo.nnTable for 2. Was asked to wait as they didn't want to give us a big table, 10:20pm, half of the restaurant was empty.nnWaited 10 mins as I was the one standing at the door like a security guard. Btw they added security door as they have to buzz you in, I believe something happen before.nnWe ordered 2 dishes, 2 rice, and a coke.one dish came fast, beef was too little, maybe it's too expensive for them to supply? I mean price was more like one hour of Minimum wage.nnWaited for 20 mins as they have to steam the pork, meanwhile group of China of 5 seat down, almost every dish was served steam fish, fried rice before me, that's include the rice which they got served first. We have to slam the table and ask where is our food???nnby the time it was 11pm the food came, it's not that good, this place went downhill possibly under new management/ owner.nnYou can check my other post, I gave 5 stars but this place, please spend your cdn dollar somewhere or just give it to me, at least I will say thank you.
