The staff here are always knowledgeable and friendly, which makes shopping inside a good experience.nnThat said, I wanted to leave a friendly note about the outside cleanliness. On my last visit, the entrance area wasn’t very welcoming — there was a strong odor of urine and even someone trimming their nails right by the doors. I didn’t even want to stop and take pictures because I was in a rush and just wanted to leave after my purchase.nnWe all take pride as Canadians in wanting clean and welcoming streets, and I believe this store could reflect that better. Other Dollarama locations I’ve visited are kept much cleaner, so it might be worth hiring a service to spray down the entrance regularly. I think this would make a big difference and keep this store on par with the excellent service already happening inside.
If I could rate this a zero I would but I can’t, this indian lady who was working security decided to ask me to open my bag and started rummaging through it, she then asked where all the food I was holding was and I showed her where it was, she then asked to show her what was in my pockets and I showed her but she started touching my upper thigh because my pocket was there and I showed her that it was JUST my earbuds. Like ma’am please don’t touch me? The other security guard was a sweet man and he was doing a good job, I hope he gets a raise and I HOPE that woman gets fired. Please don’t assume and harass me because I’m a teen, this stereotype is genuinely so stupid.
I usually enjoy shopping at Dollarama, but today’s experience was disappointing because of the elder cashier with glasses. My Apple Pay froze, and instead of helping, he was rude and dismissive. When I asked him to cancel the transaction so I could step aside, he sighed, raised his voice over the walkie, and embarrassed me in front of other customers.nnI get that everyone can have a bad day or personal struggles, but that should never spill into how you treat customers. If you’re unhappy or going through something personally, keep it separate from your professional role.nnDollarama is a good store, but this kind of behavior creates a negative experience and leaves a poor impression of the brand. A little patience and a smile would go a long way.
I saw an employee confront a theif and respectfully asked them to empty their napsack and leave the premises. The thief refused and escalated the situation into a serious matter where he threw a glass jar at the employee smashing it against the exit door. I've been back to this location recently and see that they have hired security. This location cares about their store and customers.
If I can give them ZERO stars, I would.nTheir operation hours are posted online and posted on the front door. Their hours are till 9 pm, and the doors were locked at 7 pm. The staff member didn't even open the door for me and the other 2 people. I had to catch a bus to Dollarama just for them to be closed during operation hrs. I caught another bus to Northgate Dollarama and told their cashier who didn't even seem like he cared. - ZERO STARS imagine being an old lady taking 3 busses to get there and it's locked.
