I wanted to share a quick observation from a recent visit to your 183 Rideau Street, Ottawa location — not as a complaint, but as feedback that I think could help improve the shopping experience for customers and staff alike.nnDuring checkout, I noticed a small price discrepancy on a box of Occasions Plastic Champagne Flutes, which was labelled $4.00 but rang up as $5.65. When I asked a staff member, they mentioned the packaging may be outdated and that the price had changed in the system. I completely understand that price adjustments happen over time, but the interaction left me with the impression that staff weren’t sure how to handle these situations.nnAs a frequent Dollarama customer, I really value your stores for their accessibility and variety. Please be careful at this location. A man sometimes hangs out nearby outside and recently touched my arm when I wouldn't give him my attention. It's made me choose to shop at other locations. There's always an intense atmosphere with noncustomers hanging out in the entrance way even during the day time. I feel sorry for the nice staff that have to deal with so much. I It has a nice collection of snacks and drinks, but not clean at all.
This is the most racist place I’ve ever seen. I’ve seen them being extremely racist with their security guards, a few times here. I had my best friend come up from Toronto to have a fun girls weekend with me and the security guard just had to follow us around because my friend is black. I have been in here 1,000,000 times and have never had a problem until today with my friend. And on top of all of this, the store is just dirty and disgusting. The staff are rude and they never clean anything. They act like they’re better than you and they work at a dollar store. Trust me if there’s one at Byward market you can go to. This is personally the worst dollar store I’ve ever been to. They don’t care about their customers they most certainly don’t care about the environment based off the Disgustingness and grimness of the store. All the workers here should be fired and replaced immediately based off how rude and racist they all are I personally would never come back here. I’m truly disgusted and shocked my core and Dollarama you’ve lost the customer.
Purchased winter boot spike straps here today at 11:30 AM. They broke literally out the door — seconds after I walked out, before I even had a chance to use them.nnI turned around immediately and went back inside. The female staff member I spoke to refused to help and showed no interest in resolving the issue. I then asked for the manager, who also refused to issue a refund, despite the product failing out the door and being returned immediately.nnThis was not misuse and not a change of mind. Selling a product that breaks out the door and then having both staff and management hide behind policy instead of taking responsibility is unacceptable.nnIf a store won’t stand behind an item that fails before the customer even leaves the entrance, that says everything about their customer service and integrity. I won’t be returning and strongly suggest others shop elsewhere.
The customer service here was absolutely embarrassing, my husband went in earlier after being at another location and at metro right down the street. While he was headed back to the bus I asked him to go in and get fabric softner, he had already also been at this location, I was on the phone the entire time he entered this location, he walked right by the workers and the security, while reading me off what was on the shelf I went upstairs to tell him what laundry soap we got there the last time. He checked his bag to make sure he got the right one, while on the phone the fabric softner I wanted this location did not have it. While walking out the door the employee started going off on him accusing him of stealing everything my husband told him if that was the case why didn’t you stop me the first time I came in, after a heated arguement the employee said don’t come in here with personal bags he had a metro grocery shopping bag where would you like people to put their purchases from other stores, if your going to accuse someone of something act on it the first time not after them have been in there several times. Screaming and yelling at people in front of other customers is not hospitality, accusing someone of something and saying you saw them do this while there is a witness on video chat able to see the store and the employee was no where to be seen. Than threatening to call every store my husband had been to in the day to see if he was actually there is insane. I want the owner or manager to contact me, As this behaviour and abuse is uncalled for, there was much more said I just can’t type it all on here.
