I am obsessed. I’ve been frequenting Do Chay for years. Before it closed, I went to the Yaletown location, but I am more than willing to travel to the Kingsway front. My favorite dishes to order: Spring Rolls about as perfect as they come, Black Garlic Eggplant, and Satay Noodles. The reason I’m writing a review today is because I took my mom there for Mother’s Day, and they gave us two complimentary desserts, one of which I need to BEG them to put on the regular menu. It was a cassava cake. When I say this is the best dessert I’ve had in years as a foodie, I am not exaggerating. It was sensational and I’m still thinking about it at 11:32pm right now. Do Chay: PLEASE keep this on the menu. I know a hit when I taste one. Thank you so much for giving us vegetarians/vegans some of the best food and service in the city! Keep it up!
I ordered the prawn curry and coconut rice cakes. Both dishes were delicious! The prawn curry comes with rice and some interesting pickled sides. The prices seem fair for the portion sizes. The ambience is cozy and the staff is very friendly. There's ample street parking in the area. Overall a great find!
This is a vegetarian restaurant! They got interesting ingredients, mimicking meat/seafood. I loved the garlic eggplant dish amd the dry noodles. Servers were really friendly and funny. At busy times, they have 90 minute limit. Overall a pleasant experience as a meat eater.nnFake shrimp, fake tripe made of konjak were pretty good!!nWould visit again
Absolutely one of my favourites in Vancouver. The salad rolls are the best. Prawns are not my favourite. Great service , you could pick any dish and be happy with it. Great spot.
My friend and I came here for lunch and I'm so glad that we did. It was busy but my friend managed to get us a table. We ordered the spring rolls to share which were yummy. The portion size was a little small. I ordered the vegan pho which was good, it had an avocado on top which I thought was interesting and new. I've had pho in Vietnam and it was different. The vietnamese coffee was yummy. The table was good but we were pretty close to a group of 4 people who were sat next to us and a little loud. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and would come back for sure.
