This Denny's is amazing! The staff are all so kind and helpful and the chefs are really good at getting your order just the way you like it! I normally get the eggs benni and like the eggs poached soft and my hashbrowns very well done - they get the order perfect every time! My partner got the cinnamon Pancake and also highly recommends, says it tastes just like a cinnamon bun! We also really appreciated that all the staff, including the chefs, are all still wearing their masks, makes us feel a lot safer eating out. Can't wait to come back here!
I love nearly all cured meats, but the new breakfast sausages taste like a tissue steeped in a teenager's greasy forehead. Don't ask me why the hash browns are green; I didn't order vegetables. Edited to add: service was great, though Edited to add March 31: they fixed the sausages, and the bacon tastes better. I'm happy now.
I have tasted Denny’s at USA. This was the first time in Canada and it was amazing experience! We went probably after 10-pm when it was about to close. When heard that we are tourist & starving, the staff, the manager all were so kind and helpful and really good at getting our order. Food was as usual… You can always count on the basics, no fancy stuff just good food… Thank you…
I was greeted in such a friendly manner and the server promptly took my order, even though they were very busy. It was the lunch hour. I sat in a booth close to the cashier and greeter spot and was very amazed by how friendly and patient all the employees were. They clearly knew many of the patrons, many of whom were older adults and those they saw frequently from the neighbourhood. Their manner was very personal and so caring of the customers that it was clear that their visit to that Denny's was a bright light in their day. Places like this are more than a restaurant, they are a community of people who try to make the world a better place by the lovely way they do their jobs. I get my car serviced at the Honda Dealership down the road and always make a point of having their delicious breakfast while I'm waiting. The Trainer was Cynthia B and clearly she is doing her job very well. I hope you recognize and reward the great staff that you have there.
I wish I understood what was going on with this location! My brothers and I have been coming here for years, when in Victoria. The food is reasonably-priced and *really* good, and the service is always friendly. Last month, we came in for dinner and were seated right away. Nobody said anything about closing early until after we had eaten and my brother ordered coffee. We were told that they were actually closed, as there was some maintenance going on in the kitchen, and there was no coffee left. We were very surprised and somewhat disappointed in having our evening plans derailed, but these things happen. Fast forward a month, and I'm back in Victoria with my other brother. We arrive at Denny's just after six, and there's a sign on the door saying that they're 'closed for routine maintenance'. There are a few people inside, but the door is locked. What??? Either the restaurant is completely falling apart, or 'maintenance' is a euphemism for lack of staff, but something is going on here. The restaurant is a fair bit outside the downtown core, where our hotel is, and so making the trek up there takes a bit of effort. As a general rule, it's really, really worth it - hence the 3 stars, which would have been 5 six weeks ago - but we're reaching a point where it's going to be easier just to grab something downtown. To arrive there to a truncated meal - or, worse, *no* meal - is a problem. Hopefully, they can get things sorted out. In the meantime, I'd call ahead.
Popped in on Christmas Eve with my son and granddaughter. Both of the grown-ups had T-bone steak. It's a bit thin but cooked to perfection. The server was excellent. You know what you're getting at Denny's. Lots of families dining together and others dining alone. Turkey dinner was an option at a very reasonable price but as I said, I went for the red meat. Bottled beer, nothing on tap. Parking: Short walk around the building.
Just had a wonderful experience at this Dennys! I came here with my 2 kids. Walter, our server, was the best! He played magic with the kids and was super attentive and friendly. The kids just loved him. Our food was fresh and tasty. We really loved everything. The place is a little bit run-down but the staff makes up for it.
Really excellent. The atmosphere and our server Walter is really great always double check that our orders were correct I knew the menu all by heart. Other than that he's very charismatic and the prices are more than fair. :D
I was on holidays in Victoria when I decided to go to Denny's on Douglas Street. I had outstanding service from Wally. He was attentive and suggested two meals that were good for my daughter and me. We will definitely be coming back to the Denny's on Douglas Street to have a filling meal at a great price!! This experience has made me realize what I have already known about the great customer service that Victorians provide to visitors! Wally is one of those local Victorians that make you want to come back time and time again. Thanks Wally and the staff at the Denny's on Douglas Street in Victoria!
Cynthia B our waitress, was so amazing! She went above and beyond to help us eat a fast breakfast and really took into consideration that we were in a rush. She got the kitchen to prioritize our meals and drinks and overall made the time more enjoyable.
