Cute dessert spot, nice for small groups. Many rich dessert items. Caramel Fudge Brownie Cheesecake was excellent. Ice cream scoop size is quite generous. There were Banana Passion Fruit and Mango sorbet as far as vegan options go. First one was delicious. Service is quick whether dine in or take out.
Presentation is very pretty and the desserts are very, very sweet. If you enjoy very sweet desserts you will enjoy any item on their menu. The decor is very cute and inviting. The chocolate cake was dense and decadent. Highly recommended if you're a chocolate lover. I would recommend Demetres to use less xanthan gum or other stabilizers in their ice cream. I've never experienced "chewing" ice cream until I had this ice cream. It was very chewy, gummy, and stretchy.
The service was appallingly slow for no apparent reason. Our many attempts to flag down a server were consistently ignored. It took nearly 30 minutes for a server to approach us. When the server finally approached us he didn't offer any apologies and was very dry and direct while taking our order. He never once returned to check in to make sure our food was okay, though we saw him strolling around. Interestingly, we noted other tables were provided water upon being seated, however, we had to specifically ask for it after a while as we were not given any. After we were finished our desserts, we couldn't find our server. He just disappeared without a word and we had to flag down someone else for the bill. Never experienced this type of treatment anywhere before. Otherwise, the food tasted fine but it is definitely not worth the price, especially given the service.
So much to choose from the menu! Ended up getting the Pretty in Pink on a waffle. Tasty, fresh. Overall nothing to complain about. Host said they would bring us water but never came. We ordered coffee and tea so wasn't a big deal. Service was good. A little pricey for just those three items - came to almost $50. That's more an observation on prices in general, not just this establishment. So this was definitely a treat for us and not a regular one. Probably will be back but not for a while.
Got the Tongue Depressor on a waffle and it was delicious! I usually enjoy their crepes more but decided to try their waffles and was not disappointed. Very chocolate-y and sweet, I definitely would not be able to eat the entire plate by myself we split this four way and it was just perfect. If you are a chocolate fan this is for you! This location has great service and very cute aesthetic. Would recommend!
If you love desserts…this is your go-to place!! One of the best crepes and waffles I have eaten!! You can customize the options as per your likings and this calls for so much variety!! Alert: the portions are BIG Enough to make it worthy of the price…. Plus plus the ambience and staff is great to convince you to visit again and again!! Fabulous desserts! Dare I say that the flavours have improved since their rebranding! The ambience at this location is just beautiful, and our server William was an absolute delight.
It is nicely decorated Demetres comparing to others. The deserts are always amazing. I feel that recently the portions got smaller I am not sure! Staff are relatively friendly but there was one when we last visited without uniform with closing not very cafe like and not much happy. It is also so good that they are open till past 11PM.
We had a very bad experience in this location, first they took wrong item for us waffle instead of crepes and then we found a ‘human hair’ in our plate that was really disgusting as it was inside of our ice cream. We told them and then after a couple of minutes, they back and just say we are sorry even supervisor/ manager didn’t come to our table. And then we expect to not pay for the second item but they didn’t accept it.They just suggested that we order another item from menu. As it shows, we left our banana split and just ordered a new one to take just because we prefer to not waste our money, but we really didn’t want to pay It was an expensive bill +50 CAD for two items For our first experience in this location, we had a very bad time there and I didn’t see any customer service from that team. We are really disappointed and never recommend this to anyone!
Delicious desserts. My go to spot for crepe and waffles. Love how the menu changes seasonally. Restaurant was spacious and staff was friendly. Highly recommend coming for desserts!
