So nice to see a new business where PocoLoco then Gorilla Cheese - used to be! The delicious smell lured me in off the street. Love the renovations - there's ample seating, even seats for when you're waiting in line! This location is not accessible - but if you called in you could have your order carried down the steps.  Considering how Black Forest has gone down in quality I love that there's a fresh, new option for German style food in the city!  The food tastes amazing and that is coming from a German girl who has had German schnitzel in Germany!  Four stars: not enough mushroom/sauce Hunter and vegetable topping Hungarian. But portion sizes and taste are spot on and I like their take on German potato salad!

And Chicken Schnitzel was juicy with a perfect crust.  My only issues are there wasn't enough sauerkraut or onions on the sandwich, there was also no mustard. A sandwich like that really needs acidity.  Poutine fries were soggy.

This place has a great sandwich I had the pork schnitzel cordon blue with mushrooms it was just fantastic tender filling and a great price thanks George I'll be back

I went to check out Das Schnitzel on opening day. I was amazed by the portion size! A meal-sized poutine was only $5.95, and the two pieces of schnitzel in the sandwich and as a combo were huge! The schnitzel's breading has a wonderful flavour. I tried the cucumber salad and the German potato salad and I was not disappointed. Both were delicious.  The prices are more than reasonable for the quantity of food you get - both my wife and I could not finish our portion and had to bring some home for later.  The staff were very friendly and happy to serve. While we were eating someone asked about a specific condiment that the store did not have. Before their food was ready the staff had run out and bought the requested condiment and returned to the store with it. Customer service like this goes a long way. Even though I wasn't impacted I certainly noticed it!

I visited Das Schnitzel for the first time today at lunch.  There were several people dining in and a lady waiting for takeout who seemed to be a regular already.  Both of these are good signs.  The restaurant was clean and tidy with a simple layout.  I had the Pork Schnitzel on a Bun with Saurkraut Onions and Bacon.  I wasn't expecting the massive amount of food I got.  This place rivals the portion sizes at Burger Barn!!! The schnitzels 2of them were a perfect golden colour .  I couldn't finish my meal and saved the other half of my sandwich for later.  It was cut in half already as if they already knew! Great staff, great food...I am definitely returning!!

This place was amazing!!! Way better than Black Forest! I had the Original Pork Schnitzel with fried onions, sauerkraut and bacon and hot peppers. The sandwich was huge..I'm excited for leftovers!! We also had battered mushrooms and they were also delish!! The service was quick and the people were extremely friendly and welcoming!! I will be recommending this place to everyone!!

Very positive experience.  Excellent meat quality - choose between pork, chicken and veal veal available Friday Saturday. Can also choose your style such as classic, hunter, or cordon bleu. Items are traditional and yummy, including the sides. The portions were also on the larger size...it's not a small sandwich.  Would definitely recommend for casual deliciously local and traditional fare.
