Dao Bake & Sip Cafe

I can’t believe this cute cafe is on Merivale! Such a little oasis, calm and modern space. The desserts were absolutely delicious - not too sweet and lots of creative flavours. It makes you want to keep coming back to try them all! Next time I’ll also have to grab a drink, because the ones I saw were just beyond creative! Great place to meet with friends or to get some work done by their bar. See you soon, that’s for sure!

Such a cute dessert spot in Ottawa! Definitely some creative flavors and items for a dessert lover. Love how the items aren’t too sweet too. I loved everything we tried and I’ll have to go back to try the rest! Highly recommend the strawberry cake and strawberry matcha.

My brother and I decided to drop by here randomly. The design is very modern, clean and has a lot of seating. We were expecting traditional bubble tea but to our surprise this place does not make regular bubble tea, instead they make fruit cups with cheese mouse. We decided to go for the mango and strawberry cups with low sugar and regular ice. They both tasted amazing!! They are made with real fruit and cheese. I will defiantly return to try some of the other flavours. In addition to that they had some very beautiful desserts and pastries. My brother and I were very tempted to try them, but decided to pass because they did not seem to have an gluten free options.

What a fun addition to Ottawa! This cafe has delightful desserts that are a wonderful change from the norm. The macarons are fun and come in a variety of flavours from comforts to extravagant. The Pablo Cheese Tart is probably the best thing on the menu. It’s not very sweet but it’s creamy and the flavour dances. The Cheese Cha wasn’t for me. While the fruit base was delightfully bright and perfect for spring, I found the cheese topping just didn’t work for me. A different palate may find it more to their liking. My only complaint is that if you’re eating at the store, some of the chairs are not great for taller guests. So if you’re really tall, I suggest getting it to go.

I tried 2 drinks, a cake and tiramisu here. The drinks I tried were mango jasmine and fashion fruit. I felt this place little over hyped. I didn’t like any of the drinks that I tried. The pastries were okay. And extremely overpriced for what we get. Only things I would like to appreciate is the customer service and the presentation. The interior decor was modern and nice. There are lot of varieties of pastries to try here. They have several pastries with exotic fruits flavours too. There are also lot of options for drinks. But disliking both the drinks I got made me hesitated to try another one.

Amazing baked goods and drinks! The decor & atmosphere is also fantastic. The hot matcha tea is fantastic. Some very original drinks as well are worth trying out see the blue drink in pic.

Dao Cafe is an absolute hidden gem. It's one of the last places you'd expect to find off Merivale Road, but wow, is it ever a gorgeous cafe. The indoor ambiance is sleek, but also warm and inviting. They have a wide assortment of coffee, tea, and of course, delicious fresh baked goods. They make one of the best Cafe Latte's I've ever tasted and it's one of the only coffee shops that makes me genuinely excited to come back every time. Seriously, go give this place a try!

Heaven! This very much remind me of the cafes in Asia. Good food and cakes that aren’t too sweet. They even had things from Hattendou and Pablo popular in Japan The cafe itself is huge so we could relax enjoying our food. The staff were friendly and the food was cute. Definitely coming again!

Very modern interior and atmosphere. Lots of seating however it was way too busy to sit down even though we went at a random time. There is a great selection of drinks and pastries but I did find it to be a bit overpriced. We ordered the butterfly latte and a Ferrero Roche box cake and both were good. Special thanks to the employees, one made my drink but seemed super stressed with the volume of orders. Maybe some more staff would help in keeping the atmosphere as chill as it looks.

Great place for some sweet tooth experience! I tried their almond croissants, ratatouille sandwich, Japanese strawberry cheesecake , evil garlic bun and a few other pastries. I definitely recommend this place. Almond croissants are the best and must try.
