Hidden behind a gallery, this place is definitely one of my favourite speakeasies. I love that their cocktails are on the stronger side but the menu isn't that big. Beautiful presentation of drinks, strong alcohol content, great vibe but it can get loud and there could be a long wait on busy nights. Surely give this place a try.
When you enter it's an art studio and tucked in behind is the cocktail bar. The ambiance is exactly what you want, low lit with loud music but not so loud you can't hear the people you are with. The cocktail menu has an excellent variety without being long and overwhelming. Definitely a spot I'd recommend for drinks with friends, a date or somewhere cool for out of town visitors!
My favourite cocktail bar in Toronto. Loved the vibe and music. The unique concept of the art gallery turned into a bar is amazing. A must visit place if you’re looking for something different than a regular bar!
I love this place. It is quite literally the perfect hidden gem. Cry Baby Gallery has an unassuming store front entrance into an art gallery. But the bar itself is so inconspicuous, you'll ask yourself, is this the right place? And that's the best part! You don't know what you will step into behind the curtain. Walking into the bar is such a vibe I can't describe. The dimly lit space, the wrap around bar, 70's music playing, bartenders in Hawaiian shirts, an awesome cocktail list, neon pink lighting on your way to the washroom...it all makes for the perfect night out with your friends or on a date. My favourite cocktail is Psychic Sonya, really well balanced drink. Only thing I wish is that there was some kind of seating in the gallery area while you wait for your seat, like a bench or something since this place is usually full and you do have to wait a bit to get a seat on a Saturday night.
Nightcap to end the evening after a good meal. The bar at the bar had a great design throughout. It's simple and works well against the gallery in the front. Service was good and drinks were really nice. I liked my drink a lot more than I thought I'd. I'm not a huge drinker...I can sometimes be unsure of which new drink to try at a spot. Always looking for something new to try. Would come back here again.
FANTASTIC! That's how I can describe this place. Right at the entrance you can enjoy the exhibition, and when you are ready to move on - there is a gorgeous wooden countertop bar that is waiting for you, with THE BEST bartenders I've ever met Great atmosphere where you are forgetting you are in Toronto at all, light music and magic vibe around. You can leave your drinks and enjoy the paintings too, so that's perfect Will definitely be coming back
Walk-in only dimly lit speakeasy located behind the "art gallery". Great vibes, decent drinks, but very busy, so be prepared to leave your name and wait. Worth it though! Would only recommend for small groups of 2-4.
One of the better bar experiences I’ve had in Toronto based on the space and selection of booze alone. The entrance is an unreal way to get people in the door, and the drinks are inventive and marching a superb selection of rail and back bar spirits. Vibe on a cold Wednesday night in November was still tip top. Stoked to have found this place! Will absolutely be back
Gallery in the day, hidden speakeasy in the night. If you didn't know it was there, you would never assume to walk into a gallery at night and open the back curtains into a beautiful Dimly lit bar. Cocktails are excellent, well crafted, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere of people staff music and energy combined make for a cozy spot for date night or small groups under 4.
Soon to be an iconic Toronto speakeasy. If Ernest Hemingway were alive, most of his inspiration for characters and moods would come from this bar. Cocktails are unique, delicious and ridiculously beautiful. The aesthetic is dark and sexy. My fav cocktail bar in Toronto.
