A very friendly atmosphere. Coaches are very thorough when explaining the movements and they always mention scaled versions for each of the movements for beginners. They check everyone during the workout to make sure movements are done properly. This all means zero risk of injury, which is a big plus especially for beginners.

I travel to a few different boxes from time to time. This one is at the top of the list when it comes to proper form and execution. Zack goes over the moves very clearly before the wod starts. This is perfect for those of us who need a quick refresher before it all starts. Crossfit can be challenging and a review is always helpful. You will be challenged ! I will return to crossfit Shatter.

the BEST crossfit gym in the 518! Want to feel at home and part of the family the second you walk in the door? this is the place. Everyone, I mean EVERYONE is friendly and accepting whether you are a drop in, a regular, or a new member. The Coaches are attentive and classes are structured and scheduled in the best way. Always a great workout and great time!

I am a college student and ended up doing my on ramp 101 elsewhere. My very first CrossFit class was at Shatter. Honestly, leaving this gym when I graduated was such a loss. I don't think I will find another owner who is as dedicated to his gym and its members as Shane. He makes everyone feel as if they are meant to be there. The atmosphere is great. The workouts kick butt. Shatter taught me to love CrossFit. I hope to find a gym half as good as Shatter in the future.

If you're dropping in, this is the gym to go to in Albany. Others in the city don't come close. Equipment is equipment; space is space; no matter where you go- but Shatter has a perfect example of Crossfit: Instant sense of community, and coaches who are exceptional.
