I've been a runner for years. Never thought I needed CrossFit despite having horrible mobility and an ever-slowing pace. But a friend convinced me to give CrossFit Hartford a try after she achieved a huge PR in her last half marathon despite a dramatic decrease in her weekly mileage. That first workout was humbling, yet inspiring as the other members and coaches gathered round to cheer me on. It's that community combined with super talented owners/coaches and purposeful programming that keeps me coming back. The improvements I've made in my strength, mobility, flexibility and running during the past year have been incredible. I wish I would have started sooner! #9am4life
Great place for a traveler to drop in. Coach was welcoming and friendly. The “regulars” were friendly. And I got a great work out while on the road. Bonus that they have showers in a separate area so I was able to shower, change, and have some time to settle back to life on the road. Great place!
I’ve been going to CF Hartford since I moved to CT in 2014. The coaches and community are amazing! I was worried I would not find a CF gym that I loved as much as the one I had left in North Carolina, however, CFH has become a home away from home. The coaches are dedicated and knowledgeable. They always prioritize safety and work with you towards achieving your fitness goals. The membership is mixed from individuals new to CrossFit to seasoned athletes making the atmosphere welcoming and inspiring. CrossFit Hartford is definitely worth checking out if you are looking to join a fitness community!
I joined CrossFit Hartford about two months ago. The mindset and atmosphere in the gym is the most positive fitness environment I have ever trained in. The coaches and members are all welcoming, motivating, and positive. Joining CrossFit Hartford is the best decisions I have ever made to challenge my physical capabilities and immerse myself in an extremely uplifting environment.
No doubt 5 star. Excellent coaches who are fully committed to get you fit. I was there almost for a year and it's been amazing experience with the coaches and with workout routines. Coaches are really dedicated/knowledgeable and has great positive attitude towards every individual. They have shown great support throughout and I certainly would like to be part of Cross fit Hartford one more time in future.
I have been going to CrossFit Hartford for 5 years now. I walked in on day one a person who was feeling really down and lost because my daughter had just been diagnosed with autism. I went to CrossFit hoping to learn how to be a little tough for my kid. I have gotten so much more than that out of the experience. First, the coaches are amazing. They do not look past poor movement. They notice it, and they correct it so you can avoid injury and get better. They also care about the whole person. They know when you need more or less and they really want their members to have a great experience that fits their needs. Second, the other members are incredible. These people have become my crew, the people I want to spend my time with. The community is so strong and so supportive of each other. You want to be surrounded by these people! Lastly, this place has helped me to get into amazing shape. I was a runner before and while I was fit, I wasn't strong like I am now and able to do what I can do. It all takes time, but with great coaching, progress happens in this place. You feel good about yourself, not just physically, but about who you become when you are a member of CrossFit Hartford. I highly recommend it.
I have been training with owner/coach Mark Balkun for about 10 years. Both he and owner/coach Kevin Doyle have created a gym with a strong sense of community. From the moment you walk through the doors of Crossfit Hartford, you feel welcomed. Their purposeful programming enables each and every athlete to be successful. You must come ready to work! If you bring the commitment, they'll take care of the rest! At 46 years old, I've never felt stronger. If you're looking for a gym that will enable you to be the best version of yourself, don't hesitate, stop in or contact any one of our skilled coaches!
Crossfit has been my home for a little over a year. The coaches are phenomenal and will modify your workouts. I just recently started boxing one on one with a coach that gives huge cardio. The coaches talents are a huge plus. I love working out with this group of people that help you persevere through the workouts. Nothing but team atmosphere from the coaches to your work out group. Best decision of my life being over 50 to get me in shape!!!
I trained at CrossFit Hartford for a month and it was such a beautiful experience that I wish I’d do it again. I loved the coaches and how professional they’re. I learned a lot from them that until today I remember the tips they taught me. Members are also very friendly and welcoming. Definitely by far it remains my favorite box.
I played sports in high school and college; after graduating college I bounced from gym to gym around the West Hartford area. Each big box gym tried to upsell me on personal training, meal advice or extra classes when all I wanted to do is workout. I felt like just another number when I was there; everyone has their head down and no one really gets to know each other. My friends told me I should try CrossFit gym. I, like many people, have seen the videos online of people hurting themselves or pushing themselves beyond their physical abilities. It was intimidating to say the least. A friend from college told me she was going to CrossFit Hartford and I should drop in and check it out. I emailed the coaching staff beforehand to let them know I was going to stop by. When I walked in I was greeted by one of the owners; showed me around the gym and introduced me to some of the members. One thing I realized was everyone was very engaging and open to talking to you. The class was hard but everyone was positive. I soon realized the gym was more than just a place to workout, it’s a community. The owners of the gym have extensive backgrounds in health and fitness, they enjoy modifying the workouts to adapt to any personal limitations you might have. I’ve now been going for over four years and in that time have met new friends as well as turned around my health. I highly recommend anyone of any ability to stop by, try and class and meet the family!
