Came to grab a quick bite, and was not overly impressed with the food. The chicken wings were pretty good, and I enjoyed both sauces. My biggest complaint with this place was the interior is tiny. There’s only so many seats, and we had to wait standing up waiting for a seat to open up. I’d only order here again if I lived nearby and was ordering take out.
Really glad this place is still here. I thought the pandemic would shut it down, but it is still kicking. We visited relatively early in the afternoon and the place was still busy, so keep that in mind if you decide to go. Also, there are probably only 15 seats in the whole place, including wall tables and communal benches. That being said, the Buddha bowls are huge and flavorful. I know everybody talks about the wings and those are great too, but I came for something huge and filled with meat and vegetables. These things are essentially bi bim bap, but with more veggies. The red sauce is fantastic, put that stuff on everything. Also the chicken is crispy as can be, I would recommend the Sassy Korean sauce on those boys: finger-lickin' tasty. It's a bit expensive for what is essentially Korean bar food, but Even the medium sized buddha bowl will will finish you off.. I could barely walk. Mine had the sliced beef on top. Kinda wish the physical bowls themselves were larger because they can be awkward to eat, but you figure it out eventually. Hope this place is here for years to come.
Crisp has the best Korean style wings in the city, hands down. The chicken wings are full and filled with flavor. The fries are also a delicious add-on. You can split the 10 piece wing with a friend and be full. This place always hits the spot! I always recommend this place to friends and out-of-towners.
We were originally planning on finding something for our Korean cravings, but didn't feel like drive 50 minutes to our spot in the burbs, so we ended up looking at Crisp because of all of the high reviews and we settled for fried chicken and a Bulgogi bowl. In my opinion, knowing just how to make a sugary soy sauce and garlic marinate and serve your food with Kimchee do not qualify anyone to be a Korean joint, just as much as knowing how to roll some rice and cream cheese in a roll calling it sushi qualifies a Japanese sushi joint, fushion or not. But that is most of the places up and down Broadway. We have been to Del Sol just down the road, comparatively speaking, the fried chicken part is about the same, the dark meats are good but the white meat parts are dry, not cardboard dry but it is definitely not juicy. I took a picture of bite. But what makes up for it is the price and the portion. Half a chicken for $11? But $10 for 3 wings? Huh? The $11.95 Bulgogi Steak bowl also has very generous portions but the sauce is way too sweet, it is like getting a Bulgogi dish from the candy factory. If you are diabetic, watch out. Maybe you can wash that down with some rice or fries which are also very generous in portion vs. the cost. The other items such as the vegetarian Bibimbop bowls $19 with meat, sandwiches and burritos will be interesting but I think the flavors and ingrdients won't change so much, just being served in a different form. We might come back to try a few other things but not for our Korean cravings.
STOP what you’re doing and go here now! When I say this place is the best- I mean it! Literally the BEST wings and fried chicken sandwich I’ve ever had. And I’ve had a lot. We loved it so much we tried to go back the very next day, but sadly they aren’t open on Mondays. This will be a must go place on our Chicago list from here on out. Man, if only we could convince them to open a GR Michigan location.
I couldn’t wait to write this one. If you know me I’ve recommended this place to you. I was hesitant to do it because I don’t have a lot of footage. It’s because as soon as I get it I just aggressively feast. But I have to highlight for my favorite Korean wings place!! They sell other things like different bowls ranging from chicken to steak or even egg. They even throw some great burritos at you if you’re looking for a sugar free option but if you trying get lost in the sauce, you have to get the Seoul sassy wings. It provides the perfect amount of heat and sweetness just like your significant other when they are tipsy but not inebriated. Honestly, may be the best place in Chicago pound for pound. Also, pro tip there is a small place to eat inside but if it’s packed you’re better off eating outside or back at your place. So if it’s winter time plan accordingly.
A must when in Chicago. Location is a bit out of the way - but reachable on Uber and public transportation. This is a cute part of town with a lot of restaurants to explore. Food: EXCELLENT. Not Korean wings good, but good! The portions were generous. I recommend going for spicy wings. The gyudon was a miss in my opinion. The beef was too dry. I would skip it. Drinks: Soda and water. It would have been nice to have a beer with the super yummy wings. Atmosphere: OK. This is more of a to-go place. The paper towels were very gross because a lot of people touched it. So be prepared when you come here. Overall: YES. I would come back.
Korean fried chicken wings!!! Friendly, fun staff. Finding parking and seats could be a challenge, but overall, I would recommend this place for lunch or dinner!! Came here for the 1st time and would come back again for their yummy full chicken wings in buffalo spicy and sassy sauce. We got 10 whole wings in 2 sauces. Their fries were on point and their Seoul Steak bowl with the sauce is very good. Make sure you put that sauce on that comes with it. It comes with white rice and green onions. You can change it to brown rice or add eggs for additional prices. They have a huge variety of beverages, too, in their 2 drink fridges. Pop/soda, Korean drinks Sac Sac, Milkis, etc, Gatorade, Snapple, San Pellagrino, Jarritos, etc. Impressed!! 2 single stall bathrooms. Clean.
Anytime I am in Chicago I do my best to make it here! The Seoul Sassy wings are amazing! All the food has great flavor, fresh ingredients, great staff and tunes! Pictures don’t do it justice, must try in Chicago!
The food was delicious, although the wait time was longer than expected. When i saw reviews and other photos of the food, it was served on plates and bowls but we recieved it in to go boxes. There was very limited seating, but they were also very busy which shows how good their food is. The flavor of the chicken was very good although I do prefer more crunchy chicken with more breading. The different bowls were very good and there was plently left overs for a second meal!
