Chicken Hut

Being raised on a chicken farm in the south I know and love chicken. The plate and generous helpings of mashed potatoes and chicken. The two sauces shown or a barbecue sauce and a spicy sauce. The spicy sauce was not as spicy as I was expecting yet still enhanced the flavor of the chicken. The barbecue has a tangy vinegar zing to it. The chicken has a crispy well seasoned skin with juicy meat. Don’t let the name fool you this is not just Chicken Hut it’s a chicken home

So there I was reading Brian Gil’s excellent review of the Chicken Hut and I found my mouth beginning to water. Saliva dripped from my lips, I was soon drowning in a pool of my own spit imagining the perfectly seasoned crispy skin of that chicken, the not-so-spicy spicy sauce that perfectly compliments the chicken, the tender mashed potatoes. I woke up dreaming of that chicken even though I had never had it. This went on for weeks until one day, while making sweet sweet love to my beautiful wife, mid climax I imagined that juicy white meat, and I’m not talking about my foxy wife. I immediately hopped in my car and zipped over to the Chicken Hut. Let’s just say I was “thigh deep” every day for the following month. Unfortunately my wife Bridget has left me, but I don’t care. I’ve become consumed with consuming this delicious chicken, it’s more than an obsession. I eat it for every meal, every day and I don’t plan on stopping. Chicken Hut has changed my life for the better.

Took the whole chicken and some rice pudding. The chicken was okay, nothing special, the flat bread was nice, the salsa was tasty but not really related, and the rice pudding wasn't that good. Good option if you're hungry and eat a lot but don't care to much for sauce or special seasoning.

This place has been apart of Lakeview for many years, been going here since 2010. The staff are always a pleasure to talk to and the food is always reliable to be crispy and delicious. It’s always a blast to walk past and see the chicken roasting on a corner of one of the most busiest sectors in Lakeview of Broadway & Belmont. It’s affordable and will make you want to come back over and over again!

So there I was, minding my own Chicago Business when I walked passed this place… it was the smell… sweet holy baby jesus… it was INCREDIBLE. I wasn’t hungry at the time but it smelled so good it stayed in my nostrils all week. I woke up thinking about it for a fee days. “Dang that chicken smelled good, I have to go try it.” Well, the day finally came when the wife looked into my eyes and seductively said “I’m craving rotisserie Chicken.” I knew this was my moment. I drove down there, jumped out the car didn’t even pay for parking, walked in, was immediately greeted with the familiar smell of the Gods, ordered a whole chicken from the waiting staff, GOT MY ORDER AND PAID IN LESS THAN 3 MINUTES, walked out, hoped in the car, sped home thankful that my car could soak in the rotisserie smells into the seats, parked, busted my door down and immediately grabbed a plate. The chicken was amazing. 10/10 will return. My god it was good.

Everything here just tastes good. They also have the type of coleslaw that I like! Half chicken will give you two solid meals. Amazing place for a good meat and potatoes meal at a reasonable price.Food: 5/5

It’s simple. Chicken. Potato salad. Corn on the cob. Mashed potatoes. Pita bread. ITS SO DELICIOUS! That quarter chicken piece was piping hot and fresh. The pita bread was perfect. That potato salad is irresistible. Yes please!! Love this spot!

So if you live in Lakeview I highly recommend the chicken hut for a flavorful experience in grilled chicken. What’s amazing about this place is they give you mashed potatoes with some of the best gravy I’ve ever had and a nice warm slice piece of pita bread. The price is on point for the size of the serving can you also get a drink included as well.

I used to live in this area 20 years ago and used to eat here at least once a week, just move back on the North side first time here in 15+ years and if it don't taste exactly the same as I remember it.... Chicken is so good.

Great pricing and great service. The chicken here was very tasty. Parking and location is tasking, otherwise its a chicken grilled nicely.
