This is so far the best campground we stayed in! We had full service water, electricity, dumping and the best view. The washingsrooms were clean and renovated it still smelled like renovated, but that's normal but I'd recommend to adjust the timer for the lights, because when I took a shower the lights went off after a short amount of time. The pool was clean and the Wi-Fi wasn't slow at all. There are some mosquitoes, so I'd recommend a spray or a net to avoid getting bitten by them.
We have stayed at this campground several times over the past 3 years, each time is a very enjoyable experience. The activities for the children, the open areas, the excellent management & staff are always very helpful & obliging. The size of the lots is a great advantage this facility has over many campgrounds, there is lots of space to do your thing without being in your neighbors lot. I rate this facility as # 1.
At the start of the off-season after the long-weekend Sept there was no problem pulling in to get a spot. Most were seasonal campers on site, and friendly when you passed. There was WiFi listed, but we were not able to connect, that may have been our own choice to be closest showers, washroom and pool. The sunsets were amazing. Face the water and watch the sun go down... Stayed two days, read the reviews about Mosquitoes, and it was true, however I had a 2 hour early morning walk while they were sleeping. Put a small antenna up and got two TV channels, and a dump site was provided before departure, the area nearby has a corner convenience store across the street with Liquor Store and Groceries. Friendly and a great location, we enjoyed biking the gravel roadways and park and it was located quietly on its own area off highway 245, after taking in the attractions from Antigonish Harbour Mahoney's Beach, then around Cape George, through Livingstone Cove, Arisaig and Arisaig Provincial Park and stopping at Lower Barney's River LBR and Cranberry Campground was right there, perfect for that sightseeing and scenic route. One of of the two nicest campgrounds different ends of province that we will remember the most when traveling and definitely consider it again. It was a hard summer for Mosquitoes and you are near the water. If you expect it, you will be prepared and not let it ruin your stay.
This is the first bad campground we have stayed at since getting to Canada. Biggest problem is, it’s currently almost 1am and there is loud music, people drunk and cursing, singing one minute yelling the next. When we got here we waited 30min for someone to show up at the office. Tracked down a worker and even he couldn’t get anyone on the phone. They never answer the phone, just let it go to voicemail. Unsupervised children run around all day, and Their drunk parents run around all night. Washers r broke. Lights in restroom r motion activated and leave u in the pitch dark while your taking a shower. Plus they charged me $45 a night plus 15% tax so $52 a night when the rate on the website clearly says $42 for full 50 amp service. Unless you want to party all night, while being overcharged I’d stay far away.
Our family stayed at Cranberry Campground for one night this past week and had an excellent experience. The tenting sites are huge, the bathrooms and showers were the nicest we've ever experienced while camping. The staff was kind enough to deliver firewood directly to our site and the staff was EXTREMELY friendly and helpful. I would stay here again in a heart beat.
We love going to Cranberry Campground because of the views and the beauty of the place, the large campsites and the great staff who are always trying to be helpful to campers. The manager assures us that they are doing their best to be a family oriented campground, and provides lots of weekend activities for families, especially children, to participate in. They have theme weekends which are popular, nice facilities for laundry and showers, and a great, clean salt water pool with easy access for anyone to enter. The only down side to our 3 day visit this summer was the torrential downpour try playing bingo in a metal building with monsoon like rains beating down, but it did resolve the campfire ban - and the mosquitos which were particularly savage this year. We'll be back for sure!
Excellent location and views next to ocean, very helpful staff and owner. Gas bar and convenience shop next door. Pizza available to order and firewood is delivered. 12/10 would stay again when in the area. Yes there are bugs, there is a wetland around part of the grounds, taken care of by Muskol, Thermacell, campfire and the ocean breeze in the early evening.
Lots of space for trailers and great for the kids. The only downfall. Not enough bathrooms2 in the ladies and 2 in the men's and no handicap bathrooms and bathrooms were not clean at night time like the mornings.. Night time the bathroom by the pool there is LOTS of spiders.
Beautiful location, good amenities, friendly staff. The road through the campground is gravel. The sites are fairly good but they aren't as level as one would hope. It took more time then it should to get our trailer level. I will review in a year or so and hopefully upgrade my scoring.
Great view from a gravel pit. Sunsets are amazing. You'll be camping in a vapid wasteland. I was yelled at by some drunk jerk twice in the first half day. The second time to slow down after being ushered to speed up. I dare you I dare you to get through a few days without some idiot telling you to drive faster, to drive slower, or that you parked in the wrong place, generally with whiskey breath. My booking is on the heels of 61 days of camping in a row. This is the worst, without a doubt, the worst campsite I've been to. Pool closed. Wifi sucks. Bathrooms suck. Classic seasonal "fleece weekenders" setup. They don't want campers. They want seasonals and people to pay them so they have someone to yell at "slow down" "hurry up" "why'd you park there". That being said, ladies at the desk were wonderful and the view was amazeballs. Just get ready to get told stop or start doing something you are or aren't doing the moment you give them your money. Don't believe me, look at their rules list. Ask for it in advance - seriously - it will set the tone for what to expect. They don't want you there. They just want your money.
