Whidden Park Campground & Cottages

Great campground, friendly staff, nice security 24/7, Beautiful swimming pool, nice river for dog swimming. Staff and seasonal campers were very friendly and respecting to my service Dog. All sites are easy access, clean and spacious, clean washrooms, laundry facilities. Downtown entertainment across the street. Staff were always helpful and willing to assist with local tourist sites. Thank you for a wonderful the couple visits this summer will definitely return.

We found this campground at the last minute, but we were positively surprised when we got there. It exceeded our needs and was very close to our venues. Ground maintenance was always, I mean always visible, and making sure everything was clean and in order. It was quiet at night, even on weekends. Great pools for the warm days. Not to mention the brook that goes through the campground and provides nice white noise at night!

We booked to camp here for one night returning home from our vacation in Newfoundland. Unfortunately our return Ferry was cancelled the night before we were set to sail back. When I called and spoke to a manager 48 hrs before our scheduled stay he stated due to their “ 5 day cancellation policy “ we could get a refund. He stated there was no exceptions. I explained our situation was out of our control but this did not seem to matter. It also did not seem to matter that their “ 5 day cancellation policy “ was not disclosed to us at time of booking. He would only offer to reschedule us to another day which we could not book because we did not know when we were going to be able get on another Ferry. Very disappointed in this campgrounds lack of customer service and willingness to help!!!!

We spent several nights camping with our motorhome and the customer service is excellent and they are so accommodating!! They had a concert last night with Father’s fools and it was amazing! Such an amazing campground, great pools! highly recommend!!!

Location is excellent! Customer service was great!nnMy rating reflects the experience as campers in a TENT. It is obvious this campground is for trailers. The washroom was run down, the toilets seemed to be leaking as the floors were always wet. We discovered a much newer and cleaner washroom facility on site mid stay! The tent sites were very open, no shade and no trees. They do not have fire pits at the sites, we went without the first night as we weren’t told we had to request a fire pit. We were provided one the second night.nnThe tent sites were under a bright street light which they did turn off for us the second night thankfully, after one night awake and so close to the washrooms we could hear the toilets flushing.nnThat said, they did quickly respond to our concerns and did check up on us!nnThe pools were great! Really appreciated the supervision to keep behaviours in check.nnThe price is high at $60/night in a tent.
