Coop's Pizza

Great BBQ sandwich. They don't smother the meat with sauce so you get a great tasting bite every time. The potato soup was hearty and very tasty. I remember Coops from 35 years ago and while visiting Hayward I made sure to make this a stop. I wasn't disappointed.

Great atmosphere but pizza is just OK. Typical cracker-style crust that is considered "pizza crust" in Minnesota and Wisconsin. We ordered the Number 1, which was sausage, pepperoni, extra cheese, and extra sauce. The pizza sauce and sausage were very bland. Not enough herbs, spices and garlic. If you are looking for very bland tasting pizza sauce, and very mild tasting sausage and pepperoni that will keep your kiddos from complaining, you will like the pizza here. And that's ok! But if you have at least one drop of Italian or East Coast USA blood in your body and are looking for great pizza that goes well with a beer, go ahead and pass this place up.

Excellent location & Environment& THE VERY BEST PIZZA IN TOWN! :) Plus the people are very friendly...friendly service & outgoing. Love the great atmosphere & wildlife/fish (& live tank)with the log setting.

Less than impressed. This is the second time that we have been to Coop's Pizza. The first time we ate here was a year ago, the service was slow and we did not receive the pizza that we ordered. The server offered no suggestions to rectify the situation and also no compensation for the confusion. This time we did receive what we ordered; however, the service was still slow and our pizza was cold. After our pizza was delivered the server never came back to our table. The owner came over to our table, after 10 minutes of eating, and asked how everything was, we told him that our pizza was cold and he proceeded to argue with us. He told us "there was no way it was cold" and that "it came out of a 500 degree oven." There is no doubt that the pizza originally did come out of the oven; however, it was not delivered promptly and sat in the window for a very long time. We ate our pizza for another 5 minutes and then the owner came back over to our table and said (while we still had pizza on our plates) "can I grab a box for you?" After we said no, he then argued about our cold pizza again and then awkwardly stood there while we stared at him. He eventually walked away and we lost our appetite. No matter how much we want pizza next time we are in town we will not be visiting Coops.

This pizza place has been a staple in Hayward forever!! The pizza is good, but I feel that it's starting to show it's age! The service is really good!! The food is always fresh....but for me...there are better pizza joints in the north land like Outback on highway 77 between Hayward and Minong!!!
