Complexe Desjardins

Grabbed a coffee at the food court downstairs on Saturday afternoon and ended up wandering the whole complex for almost two hours without meaning to. The skylights over the main atrium let in this great natural light that makes it feel way less like a typical mall, especially compared to some of the dingier ones I've hit in other cities. Staff at the info desk near the Sainte-Catherine entrance were genuinely helpful when I asked about parking validation, no attitude at all. Easy walk over to the Place des Arts metro too, which makes it a solid stop if you're killing time between meetings downtown.

We went to check out Complexe Desjardins, a major mixed-use complex and shopping mall in downtown Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The central atrium of this complex is famous for its large circular fountain with water jets and colorful lighting displays, often used as a meeting point. The space was enormous and it was very relaxing listening to the sound of water. We also found out that this is a major hub in Montreal's RÉSO Underground City, connecting to other buildings and the Place-des-Arts metro station. We enjoyed our shopping, walked around the complex and tried some food at the foodcourt.

Skip the rain or snow and visit the underground city. Nice walking area with some shops and an impressive food court. A great spot to visit but the city is lovely even if you get wet outside.

I often visit the IGA there. Underground access both to the orange and the green line. There is an indoor fountain inside, that plays music while doing water shows. I have also once brought ny laptop and sat on one of the tables there working, watching the water and light show. One can bring their own food and drinks.

Beautiful mall with lots of stores that I still was not able to go to all the stores.
